Basic: One day we decided to play music, have fun, entertain people, and hopefully get comfortably known :)
Historical: Well Tyler, Priest, and Scottyboi had started up this band in April 05 (actually about a year before) under the name Madison (founded by Scott and Priest), but it was just to mess around and play good music. Finally about May 05, Goonie came along and joined the band. We noticed his excellent guitar abilities and asked him to join. One day, we were all chilling at the Blue Cube, a restaurant/ hang out for teens and Zekie(the Blue Cube's old owner) wanted to help us, so he became our manager. It went by that quick...........right before our eyes we finally had a manager. So Zekie has been helping us out with a lot of things. He has made us fliers and is trying to get us a place to record. Since there is a stage at the Blue Cube, Zekie allowed bands to play there. We had played six awesome shows at the Blue Cube....but since Zekie moved to LA in January 06, there is new management. The "New" Cube that replaced the Blue Cube has gay management. Kicked out of our own home venue... We can't play there any more. This really sux... We also found out that there are a lot of bands with the name Madison and even one in Bakersfield and even another one with an album out. So we decided we had to change our name, even though we didn't want to. So we all came to a decision for Glass Powder (which was Zekie's idea for a name). We recorded with our friend Eric L. (aka Chunks). He let us record for free, which was very generous. We completed 6 songs on the first demo (The Glass Powder Demo). Eventually, after being on myspace for about a year, we finally put up the demo music in March '06! Unfortunately, we had to change our name again because some of the band members didn't like the name from the get go. Now we have finally decided to change it to End of the Downside. The GP demo was outdated and our music needed a better recording and around February 06' we recorded at Nippdog Studios a new and updated 6 song demo; after a month or so put up the new music. Throughout the course of '06 EOTDS became more involved in the Bakersfield music scene, playing several shows at Jerry's, The Gate, Studio 99, The Dome, and in september even performed for the Kern County Fair at the Garage! We've been to the Pasadena Battle of the Bands as well in January '06 we plan to go annualy. So far we've played a minimum of 20 shows and we are always raring to play more anywhere, help other bands, and make music for all to enjoy :D *

Sounds Like: End of the Downside blends several elements of:

Rock, Alternative, Grunge, Psychedelic, Classic Rock, Funk, Metal, Freestyle, Rap, Garage, Experimental, Acoustic, Indie, Pop, Hardcore, Blues, Soul, R & B, Punk, Ska, Southern Rock, Psychobilly, Surf, etc.

Their sound bounces back and forth from several genres of the rock spectrum. Their sound can also be related to 70's rock n roll sound, 80's alternative sound, 90's grunge sound, some new age sound, and a new sound all their own.
