"Twist me and turn me
and show me the elf.
I looked in the mirror and saw. . .
MYSELF!"
-from the Brownie Scout Handbook
We spend a lot of time going through life twisting and turning, looking for something special. We search for the spark, the light, the magic that will make our lives worthwhile. It’s exhausting!
Like the child in the quote above, all we really have to do is stop twisting and turning and look in the mirror. We have the treasure right there inside ourselves.
This beautiful treasure--our own true nature--is within us all.
Writer, Teacher, Spiritual Life Coach
For over 35 years, I've taught yoga and stress management. I've been an adviser, supporter, and hand-holder as people go through a variety of transitions and challenges.
My travels have taken me on lecturing and advisory trips to many parts of North America, to spots in Europe and even India.
I've developed programs for hospices and people with HIV/AIDS, and taught stress management for Dr. Dean Ornish's Program for People with Heart Disease.
I write about the topics I've taught and other inspirational explorations.
Six years ago I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a progressive and often debilitating autoimmune disease. This has slowed my traveling abilities, given me even more understanding for those dealing with physical challenges, and provided many opportunities for reviewing and redirecting my life.
My Beliefs

My own spirituality is very deep, eclectic and nonjudgemental. I've been blessed to interact profoundly with people of many faiths, philosophies, and lifestyles.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

storytellers, visionaries, people with a great sense of humor, human & animal rights advocates, people who think outside boxes & labels, those who celebrate diversity & the spirit in us all beyond forms and names.

My Blog

Some Very Special Inspiration

I love this very beautiful piece by Shimara. It says so much that I believe and to which I aspire. It seems a most fitting way to start my blog here. Thank you, Shimara, for permission to post this. M...
