a little about me....hmmm....The desires for my life have changed so much since the last time I wrote my "About Me" part of this page -'04.
I'm a mother of a precious little girl~whom never ceases to amaze me! We lived in Florida for about 3 years~I used to desire to move back to the ocean-I think now, I just want to visit-at least twice a year ;-)
About 3 years ago, the Holy Spirit convicted me of the way I was living.
I came to realize the purpose of my life isn't to satisfy my every desire-fulfill every need. I used to see life as -Do whatever it takes to have a good time- whatever I wanted to do, I'd do it- I started feeling disgusted with the decisions I was making in my life. The change that happened inside of me was insane. I no longer desired all the worldly things that used to "make me happy". The lifestyle I was leading abruptly stopped. The first to go was the relationship I was in- God had someone else in mind- He also knew I wasn't mature enough in my Christian walk to be in a relationship. Second to go was the job that had supported my lifestyle for the 2 years previous. Then it was the friends I had-God knew I couldn't grow with HIm if I stayed in that atmosphere &around that influence. Instead of depression taking over my life- an overwhelming sense of peace filled my soul. My thirst & hunger for "His Word" grew substantially. - which made my love for Him grow even more. The more and more I learned, the closer I got to Him. It's like blinders were taken off my eyes. I was able to see God's work all around me I wanted to tell everyone about how wonderful life can be if you give up all the worldly desires to start following God completely. When you start living in HIs will, not your own, it's amazing how much He blesses you with. He says, "Cast your cares upon me"- even though I was the independent type & felt selfish asking HIm to take my problems, I gave all my worries to Him- that's what He wants. And once we do that it alows Him to work miracles (big and small) in our lives. He also says- In the book of Malachi- not to test Him-but if we do, we can do it in tithing. So I started giving more to the church I was attending-That next week money started appearing- in so many different ways- Opportunities would arise that allowed me to make the money I needed - or a check would arrive in the mail from a debt owed to me from long ago- I would recieve larger tips- it was INSANE! But there's one catch. When you tithe-you do it whole heartedly-with love in your heart. Not begrudgingly. See, God knows your heart and motives. He knows if you're doing it for the wrong reasons. You've got to give-knowing that it's His anyway. Then He will pour blessings upon your life.
In my spiritual walk with the Lord, I have stumbled. It's a difficult path to stay on. Without a doubt, if you don't have a steady diet of His word, the light on your path fades and you can lose your way. We're only human-we're born with sin. But when you ask Jesus into your heart& you know He is our Savior & the only way we can get to heaven- The Holy Spirit will fill your soul & keep you on that path. But it is YOUR job to keep that steady diet of His word in your life. You've got to keep the light bright so you don't fall from the path He wants you on.Now I know, undoubtedly, that I am here to tell everyone about Jesus. So maybe they too can have the understanding of what our lives are truly for.
