About Me

“Music has always been a very special part of my life. I grew up in Oak View California, a small town within the mountains of the Ojai Valley. One of my earliest memories was riding with my dad in his old pickup truck, sharing a bag of M&M’s and singing along to Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire". By the time I was five, I began making my own music. I would write a book of songs, dress up, and walk to the empty church across from our house ready to sing for my imaginary audience. I was the oldest of five children, so after time, my siblings began coming with me and sitting in the empty pews while I pretended to be Faith or Martina. My father was a mechanic and worked extremely hard so that our family would always have what we needed. Throughout my childhood he and my mother were my biggest supporters and encouraged me to never give up on my talents. Whenever I would get discouraged, they would say that my voice was a gift from God and as long as I believed in myself, there was nothing I couldn't accomplish. Growing up in a family of seven, it seemed as though our faith was being tested on a regular basis. But even as we struggled through the loss of our home, our love for each other remained strong. Somehow I found the inspiration to use hardships as a way of expressing myself through my songs. I began to look at every challenge as an opportunity to share a small part of my life with those around me. And I learned what was truly important in life. For me, it is making sure that I take care of all the gifts I have been given; my faith, my family, and my music - and to use those gifts to make a difference. Throughout high school I performed with my singing group in New York, Las Vegas, Euro Disney, Italy, and Paris. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved being in front of a crowd, and I can’t even think what I would be doing if I wasn’t writing songs and performing for people. Now that I’m pursuing my singing and songwriting career here in Nashville, and making my first record, I’m having so much fun performing my new songs. I've been given the opportunity to share music that is close to my heart, and I am so grateful for the chance to do so."
