Look out for Ewan Chevy the sheep and his missus in the Jazz Parade around Brecon on Saturday morning (Aug 8) - say Baaah! to them.
New to this year's fringe, let's extend a big welcome to The Guildhall, Brecon Conservative Club, The Corries Club, the Visitor Centre, Libanus and Ardent Paintpot Gallery.
Ben Evans writes about The Corries weekend: Back to back music at the Fringe
This year’s Brecon Fringe Festival is coming at you bigger and better than ever before, with all the live music you can possibly want to hear crammed into just a few short days. And to really get the weekend going, Lastmark Productions, in association with Brecon Music Scene, is laying on not one, but two back to back evenings of live music at the Corries!
It all kicks off on Friday night with an awesome line-up of Oneyeopen, Corned Beef, Fretless and First Day ready and waiting to rock you into the weekend groove. And just 24 hours later the amps come alive again for another epic night of live music, this time coming from bands Life! Death! Prizes!, SyntheticA, Clay Statues, Eight Piece Suit and The Ruins of Us.
Also making a guest appearance will be the vocal and musical talents of ‘Peety’, from local radio station BRFM (Brynmawr Radio), who will be performing a 20 minute set on both nights, along with friends Olly and Rich who to some may be familiar faces...
BRFM are really making their mark on the Fringe this year, with the P.A. systems for both nights being provided by the station free of charge. And on top of that they’ll also be recording all the acts that feature over the nights, giving the bands a real boost in their quest for larger and larger audiences.

Brecon Fringe Festival takes place at the same time as Brecon Jazz Festival and has been going since the first Jazz Festival in 1983.

It begun with a couple of local pubs putting on bands and soon expanded to 100+ gigs and events taking place in 21 venues in Brecon and surrounding villages. There isn't one central event, but the atmosphere in the pubs and other venues is friendly and intimate.
