About Me

Timothy Cooper is currently a student at theRoyal Scottish Academy of Music and Dramain Glasgow. Tim studies Euphonium with David Dowall andDavid Thornton and John Kenny .Also a composer Tim is now tutored byAlistair MacDonald and was previously a student ofPeter MeechanandRory Boyle
He is partiuclarly interested in new music, having performed in, written for and organised new music events both within and outwith the RSAMD. In particular Avant Gig (2007), which was an evening of contemporary music with two substantial theatre and electroacoustic music collaborations which included Tim's 'Consequences for Solo Trombone in a Cave'. Secondly J-Simon van der Walt's highly succesful piece of devised music theatre'The Other, Other Hand' (2008). As well as the concert 'New Music at Adelaides' (2009). In each case these events have been heavily student led at each stage.
Tim has recieved support from Platform Teeside, the Ropner Trust and the Muicians Benevolent Fund and gratefully acknowledges this.
