I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Unique. Down-to-earth. Modest. Simple. Conscious sista. A poet. A singer. An artist. Not perfect, but strive to be the best I can be. A loyal friend, but not one to be taken for granted. I am aware of my surroundings and constantly thinking of ways to make changes, starting with small steps. I am a lover of beautiful things and people. And when I say beautiful, I mean from the inner most crevice of one's soul. I have a passion for music, art, and traveling. I have been to over 6 countries, including Ghana, Ireland, London, Paris, Spain, and Scotland-and it doesn't stop there...I am a follower of my dreams. I believe strongly in purpose. Doing something that you genuinely enjoy, without contradicting or compromising who you are as an individual. I am passive to an extent, but will stand strong for what I believe in. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from NYU in English Education, and plan to take advantage of my position by teaching in the communities that need me the most. I have a strong intuition. I listen to my heart, but act with my mind. I think if you put a negative label on someone, they will act out that way simply because they know how you view them. I am drawn to positive people. I retract from negative-thinkers. I cherish my family and few-but-true friends. My heart can fit the world inside of it. It's that big. I feel that no one should ever settle for less than what they deserve. I am on a quest in my life to love the best I can, and I want to be remembered for trying to love everybody. Peace. "Peole are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within."

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

'Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.' So said the philosopher, Jean-Paul Sartre. He was a Cancerian. Wise remarks. That quote gets better the more you think about it. Normally, we associate 'what's been done to us' with the very opposite of freedom. That's what we have no power or choice over. Ah, but what we do with it - or about it - is very different. We can say, 'I have got to be unhappy because I have been made unhappy.' Or we can say, 'No matter what has happened I am not going to let it get to me.'

State of Emergency
