About Me

Last updated: 5-30-09
Okay-"About Me"...My name is Brittany. I'm 22 years old. I live in and love New Orleans. I write, paint, and I eat a lot of ice cream/cookies/chocolate in general.
I'm an artist. I paint oils on canvas and acrylics and am learning new mediums. I write-mostly fiction, short stories, and a novel idea I've been hammering out for some time now.I recently started writing on a website-ask me for a link if you want! I love to learn about new things, places, people, and so on. I am constantly learning, and think everyone should be.
I love NOLA, and spend a fair amount of time in the French Quarter. It is beautiful here. I like to travel too, so I have little expeditions sometimes to new and exciting places. Recently I went to Costa Rica, which I loved! I'm traveling within the country this summer, and hope to be overseas again within the next couple years.
I am currently in a relationship with a man I like more and more. :-) I've been in some dating things over the last few years, and I'm looking forward to being in something commited again.
I go to UNO and am loving my English major. I am between jobs right now, but normally I wait tables. And I work at Hallmark in the Clearview mall also. I get a good discount....
I live alone in a one-bedroom apartment in uptown, which is nice. I even have a little studio area set up so I can paint anytime. :-) I have taken to my kitchen very well, and cook a few nights a week. This has been profitable in many ways-learning new recipes, new wines, and having much fun.
I love reading (but now I am mostly reading school books, so I get no choice in reading material). I read comic books, but less so these days: Fables, Sandman, and some things by Alan Moore. Getting into more political writings, and always up to learn a new author that is worth some attention. I'm almost done with my first trip through the Harry Potter novels, and have many reading goals for the summer! I enjoy watching cartoons. Home Movies, Family Guy, South Park, Aqua Teen, Futurama, Batman, and Justice League are some of my favs. I am also a big movie fan. There are way too many to list, so I won't try.
I am online less and less-I come online now to check my email, my facebook, my prefered comics and watch TV. I don't have cable, and I'm not going to be getting cable. I don't watch enough TV to merit it. Plus-between abc.com, southparkstudios.com and hulu, I'm covered.
My friends are my family, for the most part. I have some amazing people in my life, and I am truly fortunate in my friends. I'm pretty friendly (I think...) so if you want to be friends-lemme know! :-)
I think that is a pretty good sum-up of what I'm about....check my blog for more info!
I'm magic730dreams on livejournal, but I post most of the same things here. I'm also on facebook.
