Supersounds started few years back when Vellu, Joonas and Mikko started jamming together. Couple of years went by until around 2007 we started creating real songs.Thus came the first demo 'Get Some, recorded at our rehearsal room. Next we wanted to try our material live, so before that we needed to get a solo guitarist. We played our first few gigs with our spanish friend Peru, but as he quit, we found our man Jussi.
Supersounds was now officially a four-piece band;
Vellu brings in his crunchy vocals and killer chords,
Jussi takes those chords through his melodic and funky fingers, while
Joonas and Mikko keeps the groove solid but interesting!Add some blues wibes, rock roots, punk energy with a hint of the best modern ingredients...
Thus comes this great sound of Supersounds!
In the beginning of 2009 we recorded a second demo 'Pretender Blues, again by ourselves. So far, this demo has got us some promising feedback and great gigs. We are taking a part in 2 contest that will hopefully get us into a bigger festivals in the summer.
First, themusicleague.com, that is originated in London UK, which already took Supersounds to play in a fancy club in the streets of Brick Lane.
Second, www.rokit.fi , which can take us to our favorite festival, Ilosaarirock, in our hometown of Joensuu. Rokit also gave us a chance for the first time to go in to a real studios and record a single!
We hope to get far with these competitions, and also we hope to get lots of gigs for the summer and in the future ! So, please vote for us, and see you soon!!!
