******************************************************I have been pondering over the idea,to create a "special tribute site" on myspace for David..since ages.
As I have created a Tribute site for WHITESNAKE some time ago..I thought,this would do.But..fact is,that it just WILL NOT DO! After all..it was DAVID COVERDALE..s amazing vocals..that rocked my world long before he created WHITESNAKE..

So,here it is my little HUMBLE personal way of saying THANK YOU..to the man,that has added so much pure joy..energy..and beauty to my life..there will never be enough WORDS to thank you..and never enough ROSES..to give you..
It certainly has been a long and winding,sometimes..rocky road..leading up to the impressive present.
From the days in his hometown by the northern sea..where David was a member of various Bands,dreaming..as so many young musicians..of "fame and fortune"..His story is indeed that of (his own words) "a male CINDERELLA"..one day a salesassistant in a boutique,then..sending off a "tongue-in cheek-photo of himself at a tender age in boyscout-uniform..to a Band..looking for a new vocalist..And..he was INVITED to audition!..AND..got the job!!!This..would not have been..THAT exciting really..IF this Band in question had not been the FAMOUS FABULOUS DEEP PURPLE!!!!
So..there he was..our young man..from the english Northcoast..getting ready to perform with one of the greatest Bands EVER..in one of the greatest shows ever..can you say.."CALIFORNIA JAM"!!!!
Now..to get back to how David "entered" my life..well, I was a fan of DEEP PURPLE since the early days.The real thing,you know..spending all"pocketmoney" on records,musicmagazines with their pics/stories..and a bedroom mostly covered with their posters..(especially Mr.Gillans....lol)
Then..one day it was announced that a " Mr.NOBODY"from the North would replace Ian Gillan..as vocalist..I was spitting nailz!HOW could they!How DARE they!LOL!
I was "in protest" of course even boycotting the new record..with this new guy on vocals..
The Discjockey in my local club..("DANNY" in the "Blow UP",thanks,man!)played this new LP all afternoon/evening..telling me the "new boy" was MORE then alright!
Being "bombarded" with DP/David..s voice for a few hours on end..guess,something happened to me..
The next day,after school,I did NOT buy the SHOES I had saved for..but ..THE NEW RECORD..That was,I think,in February 1974,I just had to..I was HOOKED,line and sinker."BURN" is stil one of my favorite recordings today.By the time the next masterpiece "STORMBRINGER" with Mr.C on the vocals was released..November 1974..DAVID COVERDALE..had truely "entered" my life..(more on MY STORY)in various upcoming blogs."I will always be sending you..ANGELS!"
