About Me

Thanks for visiting my myspace! A little bit about me…Started playing the guitar and other instruments at around 14…wrote my first song about 3 years ago. I studied musicianship in Kylemore College in 2004/5 and I have just finished studying for a Diploma in sound engineering in Dun Laoghaire college.
Recorded my first album “second hand time” at home and released it locally in Portlaoise in 2006. “Mr. Moon” was playlisted this year, which was featured on the top five hit album “Our Space”. Another one of my songs “Something Keeps Me”, which was recorded live in Eamon Doran’s last December also featured on “Our Space”. Around this time, I started collaborating with Audrey Trainor (who is a classically trained violinist and lectures in Dun Laoghaire College), so we are currently rehearsing for some upcoming gigs and recording my second, as of yet untitled album.
“Other highlights include the acoustic stylings of James O’Connor and his song “Mr. Moon”, which recalls the melodic, dreamy song – writing of Nick Drake” – John Cleary, The Kilkenny Advertiser, April 2007.”
“This man is going to be a star” – Mary Kavanagh, The Leinster Express
“A tempting brew of alternative folk rock, with plaintive harmonica playing” – Jackie Hayden, HotpressMySpace Music Layouts by Iron Spider
