I have no white God...
Praise be unto the Most High Jah
'If a man or a woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of separation to the LORD as a Nazirite he must abstain from wine and and other fermented drink.'
'All the days of the vow of his separation there shall be no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in which he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall be Holy and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.'
'He must fulfil the vow he has made according to the law of the Nazirite.'
Numbers chapter 6
Western Europeans and Americans have for the last 300 years created, implemented and propagated a model of development based on human and environmental exploitation. First through the exploitation of the energy and skills provided through slave labor and later replaced by carbon in industrialized processes.
This system of Industrialized capitalism has not only caused the majority of the world's peoples to eek out an existence characterized by desperate poverty, deprivation, and violent oppression but is causing irreversibly damage to the climate and other ecosystems that guarantee the present living conditions on our planet.
And those who have 'benefited' from the excess created by the exploitation of the Humans and the Natural environment are Europeans, Americans and their puppets in the Majority world. They are the one's who are still desperately trying to keep this system in tact... Those who will suffer most from the effects of the environmental destruction and climate change are to be found in the Majority World. Ironically those are also the least responsible and the least prepared for what is to come...
Those who support the competitive capitalist market led system have shown to be either uninterested or unable or to bring about more sustainable relationships among humans and the natural environment. In their frantic quest for money, leaders have failed to heed the warning signs about the lack of sustainability and therefore the inevitable collapse of the economic, social and natural world and blinded by their TV screens populations follow them in the approaching abyss.
Rastafari can therefore never work together with this system. InI do not ignore it, nor do InI aim to change it for something slightly better...
InI wish to be part of the movements that undermine it, so one day it may burn down to the ground. At the same time InI build on a completely new and different system based on values of human cooperation instead of competition, environmental sustainability and interdependence
InI was born and raised in a loving family of five along the Suriname river on the South American continent. InI sight up Rastafari; as a way of conduct which should be primarily characterized by part taking in above mentioned revolutionary movements.
Rastafari started out as a political movement to further the redemption of Africans in the diaspora and the redemption of Africans is in my opinion inseparably linked to the end of the capitalist system.
Unfortunately some Rastafari have given up resisting the capitalist system and the movement has lately been hijacked by commercialism, universalism, religion and spirituality.
Today so many Africans can be found conforming to- and sustaining the same materialist and capitalist system that produced the bondage and oppression of their brothers.
Rastafari that claim to reject the system but still take part or refuse to resist against capitalist institutions such as the market led economy, inheritance, competition instead of cooperation, nationalism, unsustainable production and consumption are no part of any revolutionary movement as their conduct maintains and supports the status quo of oppression.
But those who pray to Mammon and those who pray to Jah are NOT the same and the way of the Rastaman and the white slave master can never be the same. Rastafari must therefore be separateth and be distinguished as one movement of Righteous Africans who Stand Tall but Alone working not with the Market economy but against it; not through competition but through cooperation; not to control and exploit Nature but to share it and preserve it; to the redemption of Africans of all colours; those home and abroad, those alive now and those to follow us in the future...
May Jah bless the Nazirites, those who live according to the vow of poverty, who uplift the poor and protect the environment...
