About Me

Greetings--Years ago when I first picked up the bass, I had dreams of becoming the next Jaco. One concert (and a conversation afterward) with Victor Wooten shut down any b.s. my ego was deceiving me with....So, I got into songwriting. A nice collection of songs -- some sarcastic, some sappy, some socially conscious. All tucked away in my laptop, chord charts and all....Then my little iBook got destroyed. Though my files were backed up, my current financial status will not allow me to squeeze any more funds into Steve Jobs' pockets. So about three years of my life (including most of mt songwriting feats) are sitting on a hard drive in a box while I putter away at this pathetic discount Windows PC -- one of those cheap jobs that you get for free for 'King-Sizing' your Whopper or something....I love performing, but with 14 surgeries in the past two years, kinda hard to find rehearsal time....And lucky me, my top-quality Koreacoustic came apart at the seams thanks to South Louisiana humidity....So....What you have in front of you are the final acts of a desperate man. I make no delusions about the quality of the tracks. They were all first-takes done hastily in a studio late last year. I just wanted something permanent before God decided to tape anymore episodes of Punk'd in my neck of the woods....Again, the quality isn't great. But even if one or two of the 150m myspacers out there gather some enjoyment from my work, it will have been worth it. I just couldn't stand to let these 'works in progress' die a silent death....Thanks, Mel (a.k.a. 'Riroon')........................ Update 06-23-08.................
