About Me

(Wauna Lake pics above)
I was born in the Portland area and still live here (as do my real and MySpace musician friends of 15-25 years, Rob Wessels, Ernie Nichols, and Davin Carten). I begged to play guitar to get out of piano lessons at age 10. I wrote my first song that year and wrote about 30 more between the ages of 18 & 23, plus a few more later. I still perform most of them. I tried music full time for a while, but only 2/3-assed because it wasn’t much fun. Now I find myself surrounded by the music of my friends and it has become fun again. To keep from being bored with old songs, I give everything I have. I wrote a song called "It's a Record" which I'll post on my blog, and one for Ernie called "Love at Second Sight" that explains why I talk about him 24-7. I play open mics and shows with Ernie where we play guitar and mandolin (I'm new as of April to it) and he plays bongos or sometimes his whole rack. Sometimes there's a small or last-minute event that is listed only as a bulletin but I try to post as many as possible. We also like getting invitations to see others shows so we hope to see you!mspmb allowScriptAccess="never" src="http://lads.myspace.com/slides/photoslider.swf?u=201396 451" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="445" height="230"

First new song after 10 years with 1 somewhere in there. The first one had to be therapy.

"It's a Record"  5/18/09I'm the youngest girl I know who says "unleaded."It's not cool like in New York where "slice" means cheese. No, it's 'cause I used to mean "I don't want leaded gasoline"No...

1988. I scream this still to keep my forgiveness. For Kelly who just liked hearing it.

Don't Promise Me You know how things like this get started- two people looking for something they haven't put much thought in. "Stick it out," they say. "Keep looking for greener grass fen...

I write a lot about men who cant talk about feelings. Maybe so I think to ask those who might.

There May Never Be a Time There may never be a time extracting this unspoken rhyme when you really see me, but when your eyes chance to meet me. You know every crook your foot might land, to you sky k...

I was only imagining angst- 1993. Scott and I were happily engaged. I still feel the metaphors.

Dry Eyes Don't you know I wanted to believe it all. Didn't want the change in my life. Guess you could say I let you fall, I let you fall on your own knife. So you know I never believed...

Never a song like this again. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I just didn’t know myself

Goodbye You sit beside me, I slip outside. I'm with you but I'm out walking in my mind. Through empty streets with streamers in the rain crumpled under cars and in the sidewalk drains. Children's voic...

Winter Depression (SAD). The one song I wrote in the 10 yrs- when I had to. Now its nostalia.

Long Way Down This song means something to me. You might wanna look away. Do you think you can walk with me? You know you don't have to stay. There's a reason I'd sing about it- tear my heart ...
