Elizabeth Mateo AKA LI was born to Elizabeth Gonzalez and Hector Mateo LI was raised between her Grandparents apartment in the east Harlem housing projects named Wagner houses and her home in the South Bronx where she lived with her mother. At the age of ten LI fell in love with words and began to write poetry and songs and she felt that Hip Hop was the greatest music she had ever heard. LI went to church with her grandma during her summer vacations from school but always questioned if there really was a God. When LI was twenty two she met many producers and began to rap. In 1998 she was signed to a small record label based in Brooklyn and began working on her demo. However before she began to travel she realized that she was pregnant with her second child and so her music had to be placed on hold. In 2002 her marriage fell apart and LI found herself alone with four children. Having no one to turn to, LI finally challenged God to change her life and once he did there was no turning back. The Lord opened doors for LI to move to Tennessee where she hooked up with DJ Rev and Remnant entertainment. Completely devoted to God and the work of the gospel LI is now looking forward to being led by God to minister to others and share the wondrous works that only God can accomplish...
