Linda Peltola - Fantasy Artist

I am here for Networking

About Me

My name is Linda Peltola, I'm a professional fantasy, fairy & gothic artist from Finland. I have a diploma in illustrating children's books from London Art College, but other than that I'm proud to say that I'm mostly a self taught artist. I love experimenting with new techniques and absorbing new information constantly. As an artist I still have a lot to learn, but I see that's the point of creating. You can never be "ready" and I must say I love every step of the way, deeper into my imagination. My biggest sources of inspiration are the finnish nature, my own beautiful garden with it's roses and perennials, faeries, mythology and also the gothic subculture, music and style, just to name a few.
I have regularily exhibited my work in various art shows throughout the years (starting when I was only 7 years old!) and sold my work to private collections. Currently I'm running my own graphic design company called Lindavision. Besides my work as a full time designer and artist, I also have my own international little online shop www.angelbugs.com where I sell my own line of Lindavision postcards, prints, original artwork and other merchandise. My work is currently licensed to companies such as: Ellen Million Graphics, White Willow Stitching and Faery Wallpapers. I am also the founder & artist of the internet's most popular gothic e-card site www.goth-greetings.com, together with my wonderful boyfriend who's the programmer of the site.
My future plans include (besides creating more art) publishing more postcards and having my own "Faery Cottage" summer shop here in Finland every summer. I'm also very pleased to announce that next year I will be publishing my very first wall calendar for the year 2009! :)
Everything I just said about my future plans sounds quite commercial and I won't deny it. Creating art is the most enjoyable thing I can imagine, so making a living by doing something I love and what brings a little bit of magic to people's every day lives would be a dream come true for me. The best reward I can ever get though, is the people's reaction to my work when I can see they really love it and when they tell me to never give up on my dream. That warms my heart more than anything and inspires me to grab a hold of my brush again and again. So I want to also take this oportunity to thank everyone who has been so supportive. Words can never express how much it means to me. Thank You!

I'd like to meet:

Other fantasy artists and like-minded creative people and companies that share the same passion for art as I do. I'm not here to find people in a dating/flirting sense like many others on Myspace do. I have a wonderful boyfriend Adrian who I've been with for years now. He's my "twin flame" soulmate who I love dearly and who I'll be spending the rest of my life with, so I really hope everyone here will keep that in mind and respect that :) Thanks!
