About Me

Born north of Chicago, taught since age 3 on piano. Picked up baritone then trombone then tuba then bass guitar then upright bass in elementry & high schools. I revolted by teaching myself guitar. This led to me lashing back at myself so i learned banjo, mandolin and now saxaphone on me own. As if this wasn't enough, i fought off being a musician entirely and dove head first into sound after deciding NOT to become an artist/illistrator. Learning the gear, studio, & then live engineering i became dangerous in the sense that i know what i hear musically and will also analyze it from a sound perspective. (yes, as it turns out 'A' IS 440! - but it doesn't HAVE to be!) Years of mixing on stage for rookies and top notch players turned me into something else, a collage of sound and music. I'm (what i call) a tonologist. I can 'do it all' - or at least whats' required of me. I've been in and out of groups since i started playing bass, these include unknown acts that might even have a recording on tape (remember those?) somewhere.Proficient in ProTools, Cubase, Analog & Digital Consoles, Piano, Rhodes, Organ, Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo.Acts I've performed in & with : Uncle Steve, Peace Frog, Audible, Clip, MWC, The Good Name Band, Hawk in October, The Mudflapps, Phil Circle, Jack Salamander, The Heard, and many more for a jam or show.Poster from my solo show:

Band Members: Barrett
Influences: Life and it's enriching experiences are my main influence. I grew up listening to my folks LP's. (Like everyone else if they were as blessed as i to have cool, loving & enabling parents.) These vinyl gems included the Beatles red, white, and blue LP's, Santana Mahavishnu, Sigovia, Paul Simon, Van Morisson & Jefferson Airplane. If you want to know my own pull on music now that i'm all growns up : THE BAND is my fav. Blind Faith, Los Lobos, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, & Allman Bros. probably all tie for 2nd. Tied for 3rd is such a large catagory there isn't enough space on myspace for me to list'em.
