I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

As you can see from my headline, I am a transplant. I was born and raised to the age of 14 in a tiny town called Shargorod in Central Ukraine. My parents and I immigrated to United States in 1996 (coming up on twelve years now) and settled in San Francisco. After the undergrad college experience I decided to move away for a while so now I live in Reno with my best friend of 10 years.I love to read, listen to various types of music, watch movies, and just spend time with friends. I am a bit of a metaphysicist, well, I like learning about it at any rate. I am not overly religious and I choose to practice only specific parts of Judaism, but I do believe in God. I consider myself a very liberal person, with an open mind and desire for any kind of interesting discussion. I can be very shy around strangers, and that's normally characterized by my lack of conversation. But when I get comfortable and grow to believe that I can trust this new person, I am a talker. Boy, am I a talker! I consider myself quite intelligent but not arrogant about it. I know what I know and I am always willing to share what I've learned and experienced.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

anyone that I can have a fun conversation with. I get into my shell with strangers quite quickly and sometimes it takes some prodding and effort (the phrase kicking and screaming comes to mind) for me to get out. I am not seeking people with the exact same interests as myself because a) that would be boring, and b) because I genuinely don't believe that two people can be exactly alike. I do look for likely minded people. So if you happen to be at least mildly liberal or have interest in books, or want to know something about astrology, or perhaps, went to my high school or college and wanted to reminisce, then come on and contact me.I am up for meeting new friends, male or female.

Contemplating after fainting

Contemplating my life gets rather tedious when one is all alone and there isn't much to do. Galina's been gone for a week and a half and as I suspected, I can handle myself on my own without much inci...

Aftermath of my ER visit

Yes, indeed, I am. Last Friday, I woke up in the middle of the night with extreme pain in my right side. I tried to go back to sleep thinking the pain will go away but after an hour, it got only worse...

An end of another era

Well, my friends, today marks an end of another era. In January 2006, I began my two and a half year stint as both staff member and student of the University of Nevada, Reno. And, today, though I file...

Per Request

Over the years, a lot of people have offered to help out in the fight for Aaron's freedom. To 90% of them, these have been empty promises; words that are easy to say and most people do not consider ho...

A fun ending to the weekend

A Sad Anniversary

This is for my aunt. Three years ago, early on April 18th, 2005 in Rehovot, Israel, my aunt Mara Vainer Levitt passed away much too soon from glioblastoma, a lethal type of brain tumor. May her wonder...

Hehe

So weird....my second cousin in Israel called me "my lady." He wrote me on the Russian site, entirely in English which was mostly understandable. And then his last sentence was "stay in touch, do not ...

For Aaron

Dear Peoples,The long and short of the letter that I got yesterday was confirmation of my fears about how Aaron’s rib got bruised or broken.Apparently, there was a inmate in the gym that Aaron l...

Last night’s concert

So last night, Galina and I went to the Gogol Bordello concert at the Grand Sierra. After a bit of mishap, we got in and ended up sitting in the back, in those comfy booth thingies just to block out t...
