After abandoning a budding career as a musician, Aylin entered the film industry as a director’s assistant. By the age of 19 she had gone on to found and run one of Turkey’s largest and most commercially successful post-production studios. During this time she edited and supervised two of Turkey’s blockbusters, “Propoganda†and “Komiser Sekspirâ€. Following this she edited and supervised post-production on the American Independent Film “Crudeâ€, which went on to win the Los Angeles Film Festival and a Special Jury prize at the Seattle International Film Festival. Right after Crude, she was commissioned to set-up the Trendi Post Production Facility. Next Aylin found herself beckoned by the academic world, and was invited to teach and lecture at Bahcesehir University, Kadir Has University, and Bilgi University. In between lecturing and editing, Aylin collaborated with writer/director Paxton Winters to write “A Cold Warâ€. In 2005 she left teaching to co-found the Film Collective, Vav Film Group to develop, nurture and support socially conscious projects.In addition to hundreds of commercials, Aylin has edited a variety of notable feature films and documentaries: including “Occupying Babylon†a documentary about the experiences of Iraqi high school student’s before and after the war, “The 17th of Mayâ€, a documentary following the Turkish national team and their victory at the European Cup against all odds, the feature film “Pardonâ€, “Kalbin Zamani†and legendary Turkish Film director Atif Yilmaz’s final film, “Egreti Gelinâ€, as well as her recent work; “Hayatimin Kadinisin†and “Ademin Trenleriâ€. Right now, she works on the two feature projects of VAV with her group members and keeps on editing commercials.
