"A rapper from Miami could never make it in the industry without doing Booty Shake music". These were the words uttered by naysayers that taunted South Florida based, new jack MC, Mochachino. Yet & still the young hustler remained optimistic & refused to be detered by doubters.
Born and raised in the crime and drug infested district of "Brown Sub", a low income, working-class section of the infamous Liberty City area. Chino was influenced by all genres of 80's, 90's and earlier music. Brought up in a home with his father being a well respected deacon and a regionally known gospel singer, his mother, an honest homemaker, and three older brothers djing and rapping in a hip hop group of their own would only make Chino seem destined to follow those same respectable family ties. But instead of following in his father's footsteps within the church, he looked up to the local dealers and hustlers on the block, which led to him getting into his share of mischief at an early age. But, winning 1st place in the rap category of a high school talent show at the age of 16, encouraged him to pursue a career as an entertainer rather than a street pharmacy tech.
Chino has a jazzy southern twang and sweet breaded mixture of lyric and beat camraderie. Chino, whose real name is Corey Jones, has performed at numerous venues throughout Florida, which includes opening for established acts such as the Ying Yang Twins, Mr. Cheeks, Pretty Ricky, Field Mob, Bounty Killa and Konvict Ent. crooner, T-Pain. Currently, Chino is gearing up to release his first mixtape venture, "Tha Drought Is Over!" Fix-tape, Vol. 1. At the same time, he's putting in work on his aptly titled debut album,"Paid County", which is a moniker for his hometown of Dade County.
Mochachino, now 25, describes his music as "Universal Bounce." "My music mirrors my life experiences", notes Chino. Equipped with a combination of witty wordplay, catchy, infectious hooks and hard pounding, 808-influenced tracks, it seems Chino is the epitomized down south golden child the industry has been waiting for. The young gun is currently operating and being released under his own management imprint, Million Dolla Minds, LLC.
Mochachino is a twisted, semi acronym meaning Mo-tivated Cha-meleon, Ch-anging and Inno-vative. "My name describes my smooth style and dark complexion", explains Chino. Obviously, the "Bottom" is not just recognized for it's booty music, sunny beaches and Luke videos anymore. It's more known for it's affiliation with donk Chevys, dope boys, and corrupt law enforcement. "When people say Miami, I want my name to be the first thing that comes to mind", states the starving, young artist. But, with his buzz growing at the fast-pace it is now, that doesn't seem too far-fetched.
