About Me

From the Bay Area to Italy, New York and back around, Owen Roberts has been writing, recording and performing his multi-lingual rock, folk and blues infused music since the tender age of eighteen. Now back in Berkeley, CA where it all started, he and a slide guitar playing beer brewer by the name of Greg Peters are touring the coasts and moving audiences with a sound that draws inspiration from Creedence Clearwater, Manu Chao, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Ben Harper, Fabrizio de Andre, and Leo Kottke.
In 2007 Owen released Bay to Maples, an eleven track album which he wrote while living two hours north of New York City in the quietly debaucherous town of Tivoli, NY and in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood. Recording was primarily done at the Ice House Studios in San Rafael, CA with sessions at the Santorium in Tivoli and in co-producer Yair Evnine's garage in Oakland, CA. Evnine plays cello and bass on the record and Megan Slankard drops the sweet harmonies. The Monterey County Weekly called the album "a gritty, folksy acoustic melange that manages an edgy side."
