omma

Omma, (means "eye" in ancient Greek), was founded in 1999 in Ioannina, Greece, by Pericles Boulouhtsis (guitar, melodica, bass, synth, vocal) and Vangelis Boulouhtsis (bass, synthesizers, programming). They released their first album "IHNOGRAPHIA", (Sketchbook), in April 2001 (Ankh HXEI CD 003), which was followed by track releases in premium CD's. Their second album "IDIOIS OMMASI", (Through our own eyes), released in Greece by Ankh (Ankh HXEI CD 006), in september 2007. Being interested in both improvisational and writen forms of composition, they write music for films and theatre, fusing electronica, cinematic and experimental musical styles, combining electric, electronic and acoustic instruments. Pericles Boulouhtsis and Vangelis Boulouhtsis are both also known as members of CHAPTER 24 (a.k.a. KEFALAIO 24), who (along with their lifelong colleague Antonis Livieratos) have released 3 albums so far: "TIN INVADERS" (Di-Di Records, 1988), "TO EVRETIRIO TON SIMPTOSEON" (the index of coincidences, Hitch-Hyke Records, 1996) and the brand new 2CD DROP IN / DROP OUT (Hitch-Hyke Records, 2007). Under the title "IDIOIS OMMASI" (through our own eyes), Omma's second album released in Greece by Ankh Productions, (Ankh HXEI CD 006), in September 2007.
