RECORDS hails from the " Queen City" of North Carolina,widely known to Charlottians as ''The Q.C." and none residents as Charlotte ,NC. Tarik is currently residing in and representing Augusta,Georgia under the pseudonym, The Lightbearer. Tarik chose the attribute," The Lightbearer" to denote that he will restore the previous and forgotten condition of what he calls Enlightened Entertainment" into the rap game. The Lightbearer expresses in his own words that , "... rap has become thugged out and materialistic." Thugged out in the sense that young men and women present the outward appearance of their identification with urban ghetto culture most noticeably though affected,mannerisms,languages,and or dress. And most often by by portraying images that are not truly of themselves. The Lightbearer has set in action a revolution of sorts-- a revolution to detour this epidemic outbreak of misrepresention and blatant disrespect and treatment of others by those assuming thes "thugged out" personas. The Lightbearer is known for his smooth and resonant Southern flow. A flow reminiscent of legendary emcees such as Outkast,Canibus,Black Thought of the Roots, and the Lightbearer's producer,mentor,and friend Elememt 9 aka HABITAT13 OF T.P.R/SOLAR CHILDREN/STANKFANGA FILMS. The Lightbearer is no stranger to stage and large venues performing. He has opened for well known international recording artist Chingy of Disturbing Tha Peace Records and has blazed numerous stages talent competition,human rights festivals,and showcases. Tarik has done a great degree in promoting unity amongst the local artists of Augusta,Georgia. He has single handedly sponsored a myriad of music show cases and open-mic events to be heard and possibly discovered by scouts from any number of labels. It doesn't stop there. Tarik also compiles ,produces, and distributes multi-artist compilations called"mix CD's". These mixes feature not only local and up-and coming talent,but also include established and signed artist as well.
