Well, here it is! This page is the first incarnation of my new baby, The Hot Rod Planet! The website is currently under construction, and hopefully will be up and running soon...as soon as I figure out how in the heck I'm supposed to link pages and other stuff. "Website Tonite"?? Not for me...more like Website Someday! I'm very new to web design (as you may have guessed by now), so if things are a little rough at first, I apologize! Until the day I figure out computers, this page will serve to showcase some of the items I'll have for sale on TheHotRodPlanet.com. Some things to look for are; switch plate and outlet covers, cigar box purses, jewelry boxes, and humidors, paintings and prints, photography, hair accessories, miscellaneous home decor, and eventually, vintage-inspired clothing.
Oh, and since I don't have enough to make already, I'm learning soap making, something that should be fun, considering the Hula Girl molds and Tiki molds I just bought. Also up on the list...candlemaking! I just bought an 8" Tiki candle mold which is just way too much fun!
I do have to apologize to those who have stopped by here in the past month. We were out of town a little longer than we thought, thanks in no small part to difficulties we encountered on the road. I feel awful for having neglected this page, all those who were kind enough to message about items that I've made. On the brighter side, we did get all of the last of our things, and a whole bunch of great new flowers and other art supplies for a whole slew of new things that I'm working on! Best of all, by beautiful truck is now sitting happily outside my front door! *sigh*...
I'm going to take a moment and tell you all about the Kitten Koffin Zombies Pin Up calendar contest. I'm in this one, competing for the Miss December title. Voting starts on October 2nd and runs until the 22nd. You can vote once every 24 hours...any votes you could cast my way would be so greatly appreciated!!!
Back to the new website...a little explanation of what to expect on the layout of the little beast. I have a real thing for vintage movies, and especially the old space exploration/alien encounter films. I also love old Russian propaganda posters. The website will be built along these lines, with retro graphics and silly titles and so on. The descriptions, captions, and other readables will feature funny little stories, like old pulp novels and comic books. Those of you familiar with the long-running Raven Reports might recognize some of the characters, plot lines, and locations. It's my world, baby, and I'll be as fruity as I feel like being! As soon as I get the hang of it, a shopping cart feature will be added, but until then, I'll be relying on my old favorite, Paypal. Anyone interested in purchasing anything prior to the site getting up and running, please feel free to message me anytime for item specifics. I can send an invoice through Paypal to you. Paypal is great...a very secure site that is FREE to use when you're doing the purchasing. Free is good. We like free.
Here is some of the photography I've been doing. Yes, I'm an amateur, not a professional, and the cars are resplendant in their dents, dings, patches, and "flaws". Almost like someone actually drives them as opposed to trailering them around. The photos seem to be getting a good reception, so I'm moving forward to enlarge, mat, and frame them, and will offer them in sizes from 4x6 to 8x10. Visit my photo albums to see some of the images without them flying around.....
