Vassilis started his career in 1986 in Germany. By 1990 he had turned professional and opened his own studio on his return to Greece in 1994. He has the profession of the tattoo artist legally acknowledged in Greece and is the first to take out a professional license. Along with partner George Tsiotsios they found Medusa in 1995 and the Stigma Skin Society - Greece's first tattoo artists' union - in 1998. He is an organiser of the 1st Panhellenic Tattoo Exhibition in 1999 and the 1st International Tattoo Exhibition in 2000 - both take place in in Athens. With George leaving for Medusa Crete in 2000, Vassili had a vision to re-orient the shop to feature talented artists with individual styles and also guests - a first for Greece.
