About Me

Good Morning.
Three years ago I was bought a guitar, and having failed dismally with the piano, (continually, for six years), I was pleasantly suprised. I've been listening to, playing, plagiarising and writing pretty much non-stop since then. My heros are Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Kelly Joe Phelps, and David Rawlings. And Jimi Hendrix. Also Django Reinhardt and Johnney Marr.
I write with a strong, slightly syncopated rhythem, dissonant chords and a nice blend of strumming and picking. Well, I think so anyway.
I'm currently looking for places to play, a few decent acoustic open mics would be nice but they seem to be getting rarer...
I'm trying to get some decent recordings out at the moment, so new songs may be expected by the dozen. Dozens and Dozens.
Miscillanious:
Here are some miscillanious facts about me: I am pale and ginger, often sarcastic, musically obsessive, and I love lobsters, (I would like to have one as a pet). I dig tea, and am down with coffee. I make many more filthy jokes than people ever seem to realise, (possibly because I have a very slightly odd sense of humour). My interests include writing and listening to acoustic things, extremely crude comediens Derek and Clive, considering asorted points of interest, not being able to spell, the poem Rhapsody on a Windy Night by T.S Elliot (and maybe others, I've never tried), and using dashes - like this. Also philosophy and four dimensional corners. I like things which are either subtle or vulgar, but nowhere inbetween.
Thank You For Your time.
The Original Kettlehead
I swear to God I didn't know about this :o
The Story Of Little Kettlehead
Scary good:
Kelly Joe Phelps: He's probably the best living guitarist.
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings: He's probably the second best living guitarist

Too hot to sleep

Yes. It's too hot to get to sleep. What the fuck? How does it get to be too hot to sleep? It's not even hot. I'm going to write a song about insomnia.
