About Me

"I don't wear scarves indoors..."
Cellarhigh are not 'normal'. They don't look it and they certainly don't sound it. Formed out of a student basement binges and jams, the band gained immediate success with support slots for the Kaiser Chiefs, Chikinki and The Koreans before continuing to rise by supporting Louis XIV, SoundExplosion, Blackbud, The Mardous, Big Strides and more, not to mention packed gigs at The Leadmill, Stuff't Olives, the famous Fuzz Club and Tuesday Club stages, open air festivals, all with recognisable airplay and an acoustic set at Glastonbury to boot. Combining a massive wide of influences from indie, rock, funk and dance music with songs about how Sheffield's gone mad since the monkeys made it, the catalogue cuture and tv dynamic, they write about what's around them, which worringly includes some rather strange hallucinations. After spending time finding their sound and venturing out of the steel city, the band opened 2007 with the release of their 'As Seen on Tv' EP - an assault on cliques, ignorance and the daily stupor. Looking to push the boundaries of what's not normal even further with energetic live performances and a desire to rock out and dance, the band intended to hit the ground running. Having already picked up enthusiastic nods from BBC Raw Talent, labels, critics and fans alike, the future looks pretty good...
