Yn Chruinnaght (meaning the gathering) is a celebration of Manx culture and the relationship between the Isle of Man and the other five Celtic countries (Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany). It includes a number of events with music, dance, language, arts and crafts, dialect, walks, competitions, lectures and much more.

The revived Yn Chruinnaght was held in Ramsey from 21st to 25th August 1978. Inspired by the original festival of the 1920s and '30s, it included competitions, performances of Manx music, drama and dance, and an exhibtion of arts and crafts. The 1978 version also featured visiting groups from the Celtic nations, a hill-race up Barrule, ceilis, coach excursions and walking tours, and it even had a festival club for late night revelling!

Yn Chruinnaght celebrates the Celtic roots of Manx culture through music, dance, song and language. Each year a group from each of the five other Celtic countries is invited to take part. In 2009 the following groups will take part:

Ireland/Eire: Nuala Kennedy Quartet

Ireland/Eire: Ceoltoirí le Cheile

Wales/Cymru: Calan

Scotland/Alba: Rachel Hair

Scotland/Alba: Chris Stout Trio

Brittany/Breizh: Esquisse

Cornwall/Kernow: Leski

Isle of Man/Mannin:TBC
