Dulcimer Players Forum (Europe)

About Me

Members can be any enthusiastic Traditional musicians who play the Dulcimer or any other form of Zither, especially those who live in the UK & Ireland. However, I am keen to encourage all European players, of any members of the Zither family, to join up & teach us about their chosen instrument. ............................................................ ............................................................ .... The Dulcimer Players Forum (UK & Ireland) is dedicated to bringing Dulcimer players of the UK, Ireland & the rest of Europe closer together. If you are a Dulcimer player already or a musician who is interested in Dulcimers, or perhaps simply a musical enthusiast who loves the sound of the Dulcimer, then I hope you will be interested enough to want to become a member of this new Forum. As a member of this forum you will be able to contribute to the information stored here and join in the discussions or perhaps even initiate some of the discussions yourself. My hope is that this new forum will be a way for Dulcimer enthusiasts, of Ireland & the UK in particular, to simply keep in touch with each other and make new Dulcimer friends. However, I am well aware that there are thousands & thousands of skilled and enthusiastic Dulcimer players in many other countries, all around the World in, for example, the rest of Europe, North America & Canada, and I hope that some of those experts and enthusiasts will also be interested enough in the Dulcimer scene over here, to want to become members here, too. N.B. This forum may well turn out to be a good vehicle for touring Dulcimer players from here, and elsewhere, to promote their UK & Irish tours and reach local Dulcimer players and Club/ Venue organisers too.******************************************************** ************************************************************ ********************************HAMMERED DULCIMER: American Christy Burns (& Butch Ross) - THE HANGMAN'S REEL:******************************************************* *******************A PSALTERIUM played by Marina Albero:***************************************************** *********************CIMBALOM: Carpathian Group playing Hungarian Music:****************************************************** ********************HACKBRETT: Playing German Folk Music******************************************************* *******************SANTUR: Brilliant Iranian Santur Player:***************************************************** *********************SANTOOR: Delightful Indian Santoor playing (Tamana Parviz Meshkatian):************************************************ **************************YANGQIN: Chinese Tune - Sunshine over TasKurgan played by GaoXiang Zhang:****************************************************** ********************KHIM: Thai Music played on a Khim:******************************************************* *******************MOUNTAIN DULCIMER: Bradley Fish playing his 6 String Baritone:*************************************************** ***********************BOWED DULCIMER: American, Ken Bloom makes & plays these instruments:************************************************ **************************CITERA (Hungarian Zither): Sean Breadin plays a May Carol:****************************************************** ********************LANGELEIK: Norwegian.
