Tell me why there is snow on the ground!

About Me

follow mandaluvsducks at http://twitter.comI'm currently in what one might call a "transitional" period. I've been reading, writing, listening to music, and trying to figure out where to go from here. I have never considered myself a person of faith, but I've been rethinking that as well. What I do know is that I'm sticking with my belief that "everything happens for a reason." (Apparently my transitional period involves using a great many " "....you're lucky you're not here witnessing me typing this...I actually have to stop and do the finger-air quote thing everytime I type the little buggers...I'm kidding. Really, I am.) I am still battling whether or not leading a successful life must involve obtaining a college degree. Would I feel more like a "real" (damn quotes!) person if I were to obtain a degree--rather than just being a mother and wife? I probably shouldn't use "just" in the same sentence as mother and wife. I know many women that have never obtained a degree and they are far more intelligent, capable, and educated than some of the people I've met that do have a degree. I suppose I shouldn't fret so much--the real worry should begin if I ever stop questioning my path and everything life throws my way. Easier said than done, right?*******************************

My Interests

Reading, writing, scrapbooking, animals, intelligent conversations, people watching, listening to music, baking, learning about people--listening to life stories, talking on the phone, crosswords, logic problems, Sudoku, watching movies, spending time with my husband, playing Nintendo, board games, bird watching, making people smile, giving hugs, getting hugs, being organized, collecting Sharpies in various colors/sizes, owning more colored pencils/stickers/pens/etc. than I'll ever need in one lifetime, researching random topics online, geneology, decorating for the holidays, giving gifts, catching spelling mistakes where you wouldn't/shouldn't expect to find them, writing letters, explaining the difference between "your" and "you're" to people, making lists, creating clutter-free zones (oh, how I hate clutter!)

I'd like to meet:

Who would I like to meet? Eh, how about someone that knows the winning numbers for the big jackpot? How about the next president--so I can either give him a swift kick in the nuts or give him a big hug...all depending upon which one wins....my niece, I'd like to meet my niece. (don't ask) My Grandpa Johnson--he died when Dad was 15ish...Mark's dad...

"sigh" Isn't that always the truth?....We watched "A Prarie Home Companion" a few nights ago--comedy, singing, and a fantastic story--not to mention singing!! I love singing!!....How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days--it was on a few days ago. I've ignored it in the past, but what a fabulous chick flick!! "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story"....."Anne of Green Gables"...PBS is having a telethon--all the good shows/movies are on now!

Television:

Given the writer's strike earlier in the year, I kind of fell behind on most of the good shows. I have fallen victim to some reality television. (I know, I know.) Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, So You Think You Can Dance....good stuff.

Books:

A new list for 2008: Mitch Albom-"for one more day"--Lillian Jackson Braun-"The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers"--Nicholas Sparks-"Dear John"--John Grogan-"Marley and Me"---yikes--haven't updated this in awhile either...The most recent was "Walking in Circles Before Lying Down" by Merrill Markoe

Heroes:

The average, working man or woman that is able to hold everything together, no matter how difficult life becomes. My mama--she's pretty cool. :) retro layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments
