Justice is a 25 year-old Hip Hop Artist and Songwriter from the city of Syracuse, New York. His smooth and articulate voice, combined with his vast vocabulary and lyrical versatility has gained him much attention from both Independent and Major Record Labels.
Justice was born Jay to Annie and Jacob. As a child, Justice was abused at home by his father, who struggled with serious drug use for as long as Justice can recall. Justice remembers his father often coming home late at night ranting and raving, while looking for more money and things he could potentially sell to get his next fix. Justice's only salvation from home life came in the form of music. He would lock himself in his room with his headphones on blasting music late until the night, sometimes until it was time to leave for school the next morning.
He both witnessed and was a victim of abuse at the hands of his father until age twelve, at which time his mother took her children and left the house. When Justice left with his mothet and sister in 1993, his love for Music was the only thing he brought along with him.
While away at college in Long Island, New York Justice quickly made connections with multiple recording labels. He eventually began working on completing an album with an Independent Label, which for financial reasons fell through. However, this did not deter the aspiring rapper from progressing further with his skills as a Hip Hop Emcee, and within the next year he was again working on completing his album.
The time away from the label gave Justice more time to critique his previous works and make changes where he saw fit. Indeed, this temporary set back allowed Justice to grow and develop more as an artist and take his music to a whole new level. Since then Justice has worked with artists such as Shells, Posta Boy, Street Lotto, and Cadillac Tah, to name a few. He has also worked with numerous producers who have produced for the likes of Rawkus Records and Murder Inc.
As of 2006, Justice has been busy. He was featured on the Fe-Fe Entertainment Compilation, The Fam, and released his first single (
Hold Ya Belt) on the label. This single has gotten tremendous airplay on radio stations, websites, and college campuses across the United States and abroad. During this time, Justice released his long awaited Debut Mixtape, however, calling such a work a mixtape is really an understatement.
Justice released his project, aptly titled
The Album: Prequel. The reason for naming the project as such, was because this is more than a mere mixtape, filled with skits, drops, and a deejay talking over the tracks. This is an album for the streets, with full songs, no drops, and no talking, just pure Hip Hop for those that appreciate the music the most: the streets and the fans.
Justice is currently working on his debut album, tentatively titled
Bringing JUSTICE To Hip Hop, with the TuneRaiders leading as his primary producers, but rest assured, there will be a variety of production on the album. The details about this project are being kept tight-lipped, but rest assured, when you see the producers and guest rappers on this album, you will not be disappointed. Stay tuned, because 2007 is the year Hip Hop gets its true nature restored.
