About Me

'For me Music and Life are all about style' as Miles Davis once said.I'm a very positive person, I'm fun, vibrant, energetic and a little bit cheeky. I believe anything is possible in life....I did alot growing up, in my early childhood stages, as a teenager and through to my early 20's,, I remember when my secondary school performed their own production of 'Wizard of Oz'...I wasn't asked to be the Fairy Godmother, or even Dorothy...NO I was asked to be the litle Munchkin, and my sis was asked to be the fairy Godmother....I was GUTTED, but I loved performing so much that I agreed to do it....I don't know the things we do... I also did Tap & Ballet dancing, stage shows and I also enjoyed my time baton twirling doing Majorettes (It's a little bit like cheerleading but the UK version, we don't have POM POMS, we have BATONS.)I was part of the Girls Brigade Squad where I learned how to play the drum & shortly after that I became a Harvest Princess for the local church, where I reined for 12 months.I trained as an athlete specialising in 100 and 200 metres, representing a local club in Manchester. My fastest time in the 200 metres was 10.62 seconds, honest I have the certificate to prove it...I used to run like the wind lol.I did modelling for 2 years, specialising in editorial and doing some catwalk along the way, I used to love strutting my stuff. I must have thought I was Naomi Campbell haha.I've also spent a short time training in Martial Arts, like Tae Kwon Do & Kick Boxing.I spent the best part of 7 years as a DJ on a pirate Radio Station called FRONTLINE...Those were the days, I absolutely loved every minute of it..I went by the name of Lady D and I worked alongside my Sparring P my real life sister Kay B, we were known as DOUBLE TROUBLE.....of course I was TROUBLE. We specialized in Lovers Rock & Slow Jams. We played the club scene on a weekly basis. I remember when the clubbers used to see us walking in they thought we were the dancers, we couldn't possibly be DJ's being female and all..ha.ha. Being on FRONTLINE opened the doors to other opportunities such as:- Becoming Residents DJ's of a night spot, called Check Point Charlies in Manchester...we also got to Present one of our own shows on KISS FM now known as GALAXY FM, this was part of the Carribean Carnival Week...It was a BIG deal for me playin on Galaxy FM as many other great dj's have presented on there too, like Steve Sutherland....WOW I HAD AN AMAZING TIME AS A DJ ON FRONTLINE, IT WAS A BIG PART OF MY LIFE, and I met some great people along the way too. That's my real passion in life Music, it's got me through some tough times. I live and breathe it, it's almost like a drug I'm addicted to it.I love all kinds of music but my passion is Lovers music...Lovers Rock and Slow Jams...You just can't beat it, ANYTHING TO DO WITH LOVE IS ALL GOOD.I have recently finished doing some training for Presenting/Broadcasting on ALL FM Radio in Manchester, where I received my certificate at Level 2. This gave me the theory & the knowledge for planning, producing and presenting my own show and also how to run a studio...
