What is the concept behind: Atlanta Black women opening doors for Black Women(Black Socialites)?
Black Women have been notorious for supporting one another since the beginning of time. Since racism, oppression and various other obstacles, Black women have chosen this firm as a necessary resource so that they can be on a level playing field. We've been notoriously isolated in our careers, in our relationships, in our sisterhood. Sometimes the very people that we love have hurt us: our men, our friends, and our community as a whole. You know that common belief that Black women don't get along? Well this could be farthest from the truth because we do not act like crabs in a barrel here. We created a firm that allow us to really and truly help one another by providing the resources and the connection to our members. We encourage everyone to continue to take advantage and stay in touch on a regular basis to find out what new resources we will provide.
The Socialites meet for networking events, referrals, resume swaps, happy hours, and panel discussions—all geared towards mentoring and helping other Black women along the road to success. This organization is for Black women who believe in opening doors for other Black women. We do not only believe it, we uphold it.
*We take back our power in the political arena and in our communities: Are you tired of seeing the Black community fail, however no one seems to do anything about it?
Black women in our organization are helping to shape local and national policies. We know that social problems exist within our communities. Our leaders have acknowledged these items for years, but acknowledgement hasn't led to action. In our organization, you can meet some amazing Black women who are playing significant leadership roles to make sure that the U.S. continues to provide freedom, justice and equality for our communities. We believe that only with a collective voice we can network to empower one another on a political level.
*We take back our power in our careers: Have you gone from being the president of the Black Student Union to temping as an administrative assistant?
I can't tell you how many Black women have went through college, received their degrees, however have not received the resources to assist them in connecting with other leaders in the Black community. They didn't realize it's not just what you know, but it's WHO you know in the various industries. We connect you with other Black women who are in powerful positions, and assist you in your career development. Maybe you've gone from leading your student government to being an administrative assistant at a magazine. Or maybe, after completing an award-winning thesis, you find yourself temping at a law firm. It's true, the transition from college to the real world can be tough. But it doesn't have to be. Join us as we discuss how to land your first job, survive the forty hour work-week, live on your entry-level salary, and find community networks.
Are you in a Mid-level to Professional Level Career and want to go somewhere else or want to follow your dreams? How many of us have stayed on a job, simply because our dream job that we've applied for isn't or wasn't available? Or we've applied to a job, and because we don't have the necessary skill set to fit the criteria of the potential employer, that our applications are in their trash can. So many Black women lack the very vital connections in creating and fostering relationships to assist them to various job leaps. As a result, we end up staying in a career that we remain bitter and disenchanted. Many of us have wanted to take on another endeavor and Are you looking for a career change? If you've worked in a profession for quite sometime, and then you've realized that you want to or have a passion for something different, then we provide resources to assist you in your career change. We give you the connections to Black women who are already in your dream job and will mentor you by providing you with not only the contacts to get you in the job, as well as give you tele-classes on what you need to acquire those skill sets. You will have access to your dream job if you choose this program.
If you are on the Manager and CEO career ladder level or would like to become a CEO of the corporate 500 company that you work for, we provide the necessary support system from other Black women who are business leaders who have been there and have learned from their journey. We will provide leadership training seminars as well as help you deal with the many stressors that can accompany being a Black leader in a white dominate corporation. Let's face it, it's very competitive at that playing level. It's even more competitive if you are a Black woman. We realize that and we give you all the tools that you need to get there, and stay there. We assist you in breaking the glass ceiling and becoming the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
*We take back our power with saving our health: We tend to put everyone else ahead of our own health. Are you doing that?
Are you having trouble balancing working lunches and happy hour networking with your personal health and nutrition goals? Are you becoming increasingly stressed out as you attempt to advance your career? We focus on issues that directly affect Black women. We focus on natural, holistic methods of healing our bodies. We also use traditional medical doctors for consultation.
*We take back our power with our finances: No one truly educated you in spending sound? Are you in debt over your head? We provide solutions to our members.
Are you having trouble trying to get out of debt? We now have aligned with partners who will assist us in ensuring that we get out of debt, and remain debt free for the rest of our lives. We meet with financial advisors. We know that many of us are just simply interested in personal wealth and have not understood that more can be done with collective power. We pool our resources to assist you in acquiring wealth. We provide seminars on creating wealth immediately.
*We help Black female entrepreneurs create businesses that last and grow. Ready to become the next Oprah Winfrey? Our members support you in every step of the way in sharing ways that you can grow your business so that you can quit your other job, and work right out of your home.
We help Black female entrepreneurs who want to launch their businesses receive info on grants, investors, marketing plans and business plans. We also help those entrepreneurs who have already dared to take the chance of creating their business receive referrals from other members in our database, market to over 200,000 Black women, and we help you partner with other members so that you can bounce ideas off of them. If you started a business and you would like to get advice from members who are already winning in their businesses, you will love the seminars and the group discussions that we have.
