Keely is recognized for her well-crafted, honest, “soul-touching lyrics†and her ability to create an intimacy with her audience as though sharing a cup of tea and a song. A talented singer/ songwriter/ instrumentalist, Keely weaves themes of social justice, urban life, relationships and nature into her original music.Born in Chatham, Ontario, Keely followed a budget truck in a rusty Toyota called Henry across the country at the age of two to pursue her parents’ dream of living on the West Coast. She hasn’t left since.On the road and in her new home, Keely’s ears were first captivated by music when her dad blasted Marvin Gaye and Lighthouse and at night while her mom sang her sweetly to sleep. Finding a happy balance between soul music and lullabies, Keely has since carved out her own inspired songwriting style, importing it from the rural communities of BC’s Sunshine Coast to the urban landscape of East Vancouver.Keely has brought her many songs and her compelling stage presence to eager audiences throughout Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast. From her standing room only shows at the historic Gumboot Café and hot-spots in Vancouver, to her musical contributions at social justice events and radio shows, Keely manages to capture the hearts of audiences as she continues to gather a growing following.
