This is Eric Bloodspear, a larping character Austin Clements (I, who’s typing this) made up, for myself. If you’d like to get to know me, I’m on my top whatever. Well this is my story,
Before Eric was born, during the time, before the Roman Empire fell to its knees; his father Hásteinn Bloodspear was a leader of the Norse Viking tribe called the Bloodspear’s. They were fierce, powerful, and showed no remorse, terrifying with an axe or sword and lethal with a spear. They worshiped the Norse war gods, Odin, Thor, etc. They couldn’t wait to go to Valhalla, but did their best to stay alive. Eric’s father had a wife named Thora Bloodspear, and an older brother named Eric Bloodspear, which was who Eric was named after. The Bloodspear’s had a hatred for the Roman Empire, for many reasons, for which I don’t know but they did. They decided to have a plan, a plan of incursion.
They got their biggest boats and shipped off through the Med and stopped on the beaches of Rome. With their toughest men and their sharpest spears they went for the attack. Fight after fight the battle went on. Blood baths were washing the cities of Rome. They thought to them selves, that Odin would be proud. Eric’s father was throwing his spears out of his quiver (specially designed to hold up to 5 spears) left and right, knocking Romans back 10ft. He would take his axe split the Romans shields in half and stab them in the chest with his sword. Eric’s uncle would sneak up behind people and take his axe and slice it into peoples’ shoulders and pull them toward him, so he could cut off their heads. They are bloody messes when they come home. In the heat of fighting, Eric’s father was running along side his brother toward the Emperor’s layer to take all his gold and spill his blood on the heart of the empire he helped build. But at that moment running up those stairs, my father saw a woman, her name Eve Clemes. Course they were stopped and didn’t succeed in time. Eve Clemes was a daughter of importance and her father was a leader of some of the Roman guards. His name was Marcus Even Clemes.
It was about a week after the battle when they saw each other again and fell for each other. After a course of several months from ransacking what they destroyed, the Bloodspear’s went back to their home, Eric’s father stayed. He said that it was what he wanted to do and he gave the responsibility to my uncle to lead the Bloodspear’s on future battles and wars. Time went on, their love was a secret. A few months after being together they gave birth to their son, named after his uncle, Eric Bloodspear.
Eventually Eve’s father caught on, and ordered his men to kill all 3 of them, even his daughter for her treachery. They found them when Eric was 5 and tired to kill them, but they were to good. The 3 of them would move to different location to different location so that they would be hard to track, but it took the Romans 2 more years to finally do their order. They killed Eric’s father and mother. Before Hásteinn made his last final breathe he told Eric to do what he now does best…RUN. So he did he moved his feet and was stopped by his uncle. The Bloodspear’s were getting worried about their own and decided to bring them back home. Eric’s uncle and his 8 other Bloodspear’s slaughtered the Roman guards. And Eric took his 7 yrs old nephew, Eric, back home. And trained him the arts, religion, fighting style, and way of the Viking tribe, the Bloospear’s.
Eric’s uncle trained him till he was 17. He was ready to be on his own, he could stick with the tradition and stay with the Bloodspear’s or go one his own and do new things in his life. He decided he would want to visit Rome, his birthplace, and to find out more about his mother. He also would want to visit the place she was buried. So he does. He goes alone. He finds the place where she is buried. He notices in the stone, a shiny object is planted in it. He takes his sword and jimmies it out, it’s a ring with a Roman soldier on it. He says to himself, “I hate the Romans for killing my mother and father, but I respect my mother enough to wear it.†He puts it on, and forever, he says, he’ll keep it on. He notices this will be his last time to say goodbye, and he does. He tears. And then decides he’ll go back home and live a life he was destined to, to fight along side his brothers, the Bloodspear’s.
He reaches his home, where all the Bloodspear’s lye, but when he gets there, he notices something strange…silence. He goes toward. With an axe in one hand and his shield in the other, ready to strike. When he gets closer he realizes, that all of his Bloodspearian brothers and sisters, are dead, his uncle’s head on a stick, the houses torn apart, and limbs everywhere. He falls to his knees, with a tear down a cheek, gets up faster than one of Thor’s lightning bolts. Eric yells, “WHERE ARE YOU, ARE YOU HERE TO KILL ME OR SEND ME A MESSAGE!!!!†Eric figures the Romans are there, who else would do it. He looks around…silence. He walks away cant bare to see his family in turmoil. He tries to think, what to do now.
He walks through a small town to reach a bigger town, across a sea, parallel from the Bloodspear home. As he crosses a bridge he hears a laughter…he looks, nothing. He crosses the long bridge unmarked but with the hairs on his neck sticking straight up. He hears a rustle in the trees, and sees figures lurking though them. He pulls out his sword. And he hears beings running, they’re getting closer, he runs. Running through the woods, land of the Tyrcath. Eric has finally stopped running, because he is circled by goblins. He wastes the 2 spears on his back, killing one and missing another. He counts, 1, 2, 3…7. 7 left to kill. On sneaks behind him and he turns and stabs it in the chest. He runs toward one and shield bashes it over a cliff. But he’s close to the cliff, and he is tackled beside it. His sword goes flying over, but he still has his handy axe. That’s all he has left. On the ground struggling to kill the goblins, 2 Tyrcath men come out of the trees. One of them kicks 2 off Eric’s body, off the cliff. The other one slices one in half with his quickness. And the one that kicked took his flail and bashed the heads of the remaining goblins. The other Tyrcath, helps Eric up. Eric’s axe handle broke in half from a strike, and his shield cracked, not able to be repaired. The Tyrcath men say their names, Dren and Fensalir. They saved Eric’s life.
And from then one, Eric started a new life, with the Tycaths. Dren a new comer as well, trained Eric the ways of the Macaths. And they also taught Eric the ways of Cath, the Bear God. And every since then Eric has been with the Macaths, fighting along side them, in every battle they face, with just as much pride as if he were with his never forgotten tribe, the Bloodspear’s.
