Not looking to "HOOK UP" with anyone, just want to keep in touch with friends and meet new ones with the same interests.(bands too) mainly Rockabilly/Country and all the off shoots of them) Also all the other things involved in the culture; From clothes/cars/tattoos/furniture/pin up girls etc...Would also like to turn you onto bands that you might not ever heard of,and same goes for me. Also I like to keep and be kept up on any worth while shows that are coming up.Oh and just becouse your not into "THE SCENE" it don't mean you can't just stop on by and say HOWDY Partner! This gal looks a little hesitant to say HOWDY.(or maybe it's she don't know WHAT to make of these here Teds)(And speaking of Teddyboys)Check out these 3 GREAT clips from the U.K. of um with original newspaper about um too.(MAN these Cats & Kittens are COOL!)****** "THE CULT OF THE TEDDYBOY" ****** (Style & Menace) *"THE CULT OF THE TEDDYBOY"* (From Bombsite to Street Smart) "THE CULT OF THE TEDDYBOY" (LATE 70's REVIVAL JIVE,JIVE,JIVE) _____________________________________________________ I'd like to play "VJ" for ya for awhile feturing a few vids "From the past" (or "Old School" as they like to call it now)Personaly I can never bring myself to calling the 80's "Old School" (if so) I must LOVE "PRE SCHOOL"! So here's a couple of vids (as I prefer to say)the past (the 80's) about The U.K.'s Ted/Rockabilly's past ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------THE HONEYDIPPERS "Good Rockin' at Midnight" A little 6 song e.p. put out by Robert Plant (after Zep broke up) That THREW F.M. radio for a LOOP! They didn't know WHAT the FUCK to do with it!(What happened to the amps TURNED UP to 11!) All Swing/Doo Wop/Rockabilly songs. The DIE HARD Zep fans failed to realize this was basicly the same music Zep played all along.(JUST LOUDER!!!!)This vid shows Plant singing with great dance shots from when Swing hit Britan in WWII to when Rock & Roll Swept them again "OFF thier feet!" To the second Revival of Rockabilly in the 70' to the 80's (of COURSE lead by The Cats)They made this e.p. toured once, and made a apperence on S.N.L. He had Jeff Beck play on the e.p. But he got Brian Setzer to play for him on the S.N.L. (along with The Stray Cats Doo Wop band at the time 14 KAROT SOUL)So on that one priticular Satarday Night Live epesode (I guess you realy could say...) There REALY was some "GOOD ROCKIN' AT MIDNIGHT!" (on S.N.L.) (And DON'T laugh...) That I'm playin' a ELTON JOHN video,it's a pretty good tune and the vid ACTUALY has a plot to it too(remember those days?)A great vidio about Teds who get "THE CALL UP" (and loose thier pomps!) While Elton does his best to be a 50's "Doo Woopish" singer. With his BIG Pomp wig and Glitter outfit towards the end looking OH SO VERY YOUNG AND SO COOL!!! Bet it makes his husband's heart skip a beat and tear to his eye(And now for something compleatly different) "A Ted at the Barber Shop" (That's just the way this little clip from the BBC would be intro'd if it were on Monty Python as it well SHOULD) "Ay Mate...how'z bout you 'n me goin down to the Barber Shop n gettin' a "Elephant's Trunk" ay whada you say mate?"
