THE WHATEVERS CLEVER recording project has evolved into a live experience with real live people in a real live band. The band members include Joe Duffey, Aria Mascaro, Brendan Duffey, Drew Saracco, and Dan Gallagher. We are currently booking local gigs under the name Joe Duffey & Whatevers Clever. Come check us out. Thanks to everyone who has been there so far with open ears. We appreciate all your support.
The WHATEVERS CLEVER album consists of my basement recordings of old songs and new. The instruments include acoustic guitar, mandolin, drums and other percussion, harmonica, jaw harp, accordion, various keyboard sounds such as the baselines, and anything else lying around in my basement. My brother Brendan sits in for some of the keyboard and piano sections. My good friend Anthony Vallone sits in on the back up acoustic guitar and acoustic base in Escaping Shadows. My other good friend Drew Sarraco plays acoustic guitar in What Doesn't Matter, while Dan Gallagher lends his banjo skills. Jack Firneno added drums to A Place Not To Think and Common Senses. And my lovely wife Aria is singing all the female vocals. These songs are all works in progress and recorded for the purpose of my own amusement and enjoyment. They will grow and develop into newer recordings as time passes and ideas surface. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoy making them. Thanks!!!
"THE LAST RAP EVER WRITTEN" - A short time ago I embarked on a rap career... A very short time later that career came to an end. "The Last Rap Ever Written" is the story of how my entire rapping career somehow started, came to fruition, and dissipated all in the time it took to write one rap song. Thanks to Greg Bernt aka John Dillinger for his time and poetry... check him out. I added some funky rhythm guitar and some falsetto vocal melodies to an already awesome beat and here's what we got.
We're always in the basement playing music. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood.
See you all soon...... ..
