About Me

This is Marko. You are encouraged to meet him. Or at least read through his page :
So what can I tell you about myself? I think I'm quite a nice guy, perhaps a bit complex. I don't show everything I've got at first so it's worth getting to know me better. I'm quite susceptible and I often experience life on a more profound level than the majority does… and probably than I shoud do, because this takes a hell lot of energy. Some people tell me that I take life too seriously but I can't help myself. I guess my pretty good sense of humour helps me out here. I'm also very emotional and it's not difficult to hurt me. I don't like shallow relationships, be it love or friendship, I usually engage fully in them… I guess I'm quite individualstic, though I'm aware I couldn't live without friends and people who I love. I'm really open minded and try to be as much without prejudice as this is possible. I try to live a life that is full of changes and progress, I don't like steady ways of life and hence I can't stand tradition and habits. I'm really trying to be myself, getting rid of the ties that restrict me, accepting the world out there but creating my own… And I'm trying to find something magic in this world, because it's been so indifferent to me lately…

My Interests

Friends There's no better thing than hanging out with your best friends. Or calling them in the middle of the night if you feel like a deep conversation
Music I couldn't live without it. World is a better place if experienced through headphones ;)
Going out I'm no party animal, but I enjoy partying and getting drunk occasionally (and of course more often during the summer time)
Photography My favourite hobby and something I believe I'm good at. If I go somewhere without my camera, it's because it is too heavy. I enjoy portraiture and macro photography the most
Philosophy After only 2 years of philosophy course it has marked my life greatly. It's great fun putting reality into theories, even if they are all false ;)
Poetry I became to like it because of the freedom it allows and beacuse it can express ideas that cannot be put into sentences
French My favourite language, though I should work more on my french. I think I like it because it's so artistic, romantic and delicate
Science Because I want to know and understand the world I live in :) This is also where my future plans lie; I'm sort of dedicating my life to science
Humour What a boring place the world would be without it! It gives so much freedom and it is so powerful, because nothing is safe from a mockery. I prefer the intelligent and subtle humour, the English humour basically
Travelling I love big cities and villages, highways and footpaths, top civilization and no civilization. I like to change my location as often as possible and I never get attached to a place. If I had the money, I'd probably travel all the time
Cycling Yes, there is some sport in my life as well. I like cycling because you can be quite fast and get quite far, and yet you're all on your own - nothing artificial involved. Mountain cycling (up and down the hills) is my favourite ;)
Cocktails This is a new one. It consists of both the enjoyment of preparing cocktails as well as the pleasure of drinking them :P

I'd like to meet:

Quotations and thoughts
"On se fait toujours des idées exagérées de ce qu'on ne connaît pas."

Albert Camus, L'Étranger

"Rien n'est plus vain que de mourir pour un amour. C'est vivre qu'il faudrait."

Albert Camus, Noces

"Il n'y a qu'un problème philosophique vraiment sérieux : c'est le suicide. Juger que la vie vaut ou ne vaut pas la peine d'être vécue, c'est répondre á la question fondamentale de la philosophie."

Albert Camus, Le mythe de Sisyphe

"My thought is me: that is why I can't stop. I exist by what I think...and I can't prevent myself from thinking."

Jean-Paul Sartre, Nausea

"There are, as is known, insects that die in the moment of fertilization. So it is with all joy: life's highest, most splendid moment of enjoyment is accompanied by death."

Soren Kierkegaard, Either/Or

"The people who live in a Golden Age usually go around complaining how yellow everything looks."

Randall Jarrell, The Taste of the Age

"Being true to myself means being true to my own originality, and that is something only I can articulate and discover. In articulating it, I am also defining myself. I am realizing a potentiality that is properly my own."

Charles Taylor, The Ethics of Authenticity

"The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference."

Richard Dawkins

"The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking."

Albert Einstein

"Everything you can imagine is real."

Poetry
Milan Dekleva : V zivi zob
Sistemi vecnosti

DRUGI, UMETNOST ZADRZEVANJA

Cesnjev cvet, tezko pricakovan.
Koliko zelje, bolece nabreklosti vej
Vzajemnost molitve
(puhastih besed oblakov, robatih vzklikov
zemlje)
je nujna,
da bi ves svet pristal
na tvojo drobceno,
enostavno radost.

Mimo vseh vojn,
poklanih semen
in razseljenih bozcev.

Tu, ko te se ni, komaj komaj
zadrzevana vecnost.

Janez Menart : Pod kuznim znamenjem

IN CE ...

In ce to stvarstvo sploh ne more v mere,
ki vanje tlaci ga cloveski duh?
Ce so sistemi, sklepanja in vere

neobcutljiva, topa tvar svetov,
kot se iz nezavednosti zbuditi
v trpeco sanjo, ki jo sanja snov?

LUKNJA

Psihoanalitiki so zardeli od sramu
in genetski inzenirji so priznali svoj nesmiselno
ovinkarski pristop
k jedru celic
fiziologi so obnemeli kot osteti prvosolcki
in celo atomski fiziki so prvidno
molcali
ko mi je zmagoslavni vojak pokazal
kako lahko preprosto, povsem navadna luknja
v meso
izprazni vse njihove teorije
v okorno in skopano
jamo
nad katero ostane le se kamen
preprosta, hladna rudnina
ki bo zmagoslavno opozarjala
na najenostavnejso razresitev
velike uganke sveta.

Uros Marolt : Pasjansa ;)

TISTA GOSPA

tista gospa ves (sem ti rekel)
ki me je
ob ponedeljkih in torkih in sredah in cetrtkih in petkih
dobro jutro dobro jutro
zmotila

ko sem (lahko se smejis) mislil
nate
vsakic prav vsakic sem mislil
nate
in me je zmotila

na svojem kolesu (rdecem kot
ustnice) dobro jutro dobro jutro
potem sem mislil
na njene bele lase in
samo nanje

danes zjutraj pa (sreda je)
sem te v mislih
razcesaval
pripeljalo tisto kolo
dobro jutro in mislim
nate

Music:

Metal , especially thrash, melodic death and metalcore.
List of favourite bands would look something like that: Kreator, Exodus, Metallica, Slayer, Yyrkoon, Master, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Opeth, Ceremonial Oath, Dark Tranquillity, Moonspell... Can't forget Edguy and Korpiklaani, their concerts were some of the best in my life ;) As for Slovenian metal, I love Sarcasm and Negligence.

I'm also into minimalistic and instrumental music lately. Personal favourite is Yann Tiersen (as you might have noticed). This is the only music that can make me cry.
