I'm a Connecticut born tenor saxophonist, chef, and instrument repair technician. It all started when I began studying jazz in high school from bassist Dave Santoro at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. I had big hopes of playing jazz music for a living... oops... So I moved to Boston, went to New England Conservatory, and studied with Jerry Bergonzi. That was pretty great (the Bergonzi part). I left after three years (the NEC part) and went to the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. Also pretty great. I worked in a really hip restaurant in Boston for a couple years... great too. I moved back to Connecticut to get away from all the shit (the Boston part) and take it easy for a while. I started teaching both privately and at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. Several years of teaching brought me to the brink of insanity... so I quit. I sold mortgages for a year which was awful, and played poker for a living the next year, which was way too much fun. Then I decided to get my shit together, and went back to school. I finished the band instrument repair technology program at Renton Technical College in Washington, and now I fix (and play) instruments for a living. I hope this is it...
