Members of the Gay & Lesbian community interested in having fun and meeting new people!!!!!Did you know that across Pennsylvania it is completely legal to fire someone from their job because of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression? On Wednesday, March 4, a record-number of Pennsylvania House members introduced House Bill 300, legislation to amend the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act to prohibit discrimination on the bases of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression in employment, housing, and public accommodations. On Wednesday, March 11, the State Government Committee successfully voted this bill out of their committee, and sent it to be voted upon by the full House of Representatives. This important bill has never gotten this far before, and we need to show our lawmakers across this state that thousands of people care about this legislation! Please call and e-mail your State Representative and ask them to vote YES on House Bill 300! Even if you think your lawmakers are already supportive, or would never support this bill-- every single member of the House NEEDS to hear from us!Please take a moment to send the e-mail found through this action alert to your State Representative, but also please call their Harrisburg Office and ask them to vote YES on this important bill.Dear Senator, Please vote YES on House Bill 300! This important bill would amend the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations because of one's sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. I feel it is important for all members of our society to be protected from discrimination. An overwhelming majority of Americans believe that hard working and law-abiding citizens should not be discriminated against in the workplace, yet under Pennsylvania law, it is legal to fire someone simply for being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. I ask that you take a stand for equality by supporting civil rights bills that protect lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender Pennsylvanians from discrimination and voting YES on House Bill 300! Thank you.
