About Me

Electronic music fascinated Android3 from the time his first data chip was installed. As his image retention devices were upgraded and modified, he would spend many hours Scanning, Zooming, and Cinematizing the contents of the local keyboard shop, from the Casio CZ-1 to the Fairlight CMI. These collections of circuits, wiring, and analog paths beckoned him to become more like them, and indeed, inspired the first wave of upgrades performed on the pre-cyborg.
The earliest and heaviest imprint - a New Order 12" single, Remixed by Shep Pettibone, caught his photo-reticule, and burned into his gelcircuitry layer.
He would be a Remixer.
Programming implemented in 2005 ensured parity with this goal for the rest of the 10K cycle.
Gelcircuitry layer upgrades via bulk dump of 23 12" records [looted from the Mall during the Great Zombie panic of 1987] set the blueprint for the orgy of Techno collecting and DJing that would continue through 2003. At that time normal operations of the cyborg were halted while massive upgrades to Environmental Protection, Motion Capture and Detection, Oxygen Filtration and Vocal Reproduction took place.
During this time the Music Reproduction apparati were completely dismantled and re-built. The gelcircuitry paths had "burned in" with consumption patterns, pathways made deep from overuse during the Collection Era. Restoration experts blasted the patterns, burning them out with high intensity radiation from a modified microwave. Ethanol mixed with soybean oil fomented new pathway formation. R&D installed a central node facilitating quicker beaming through auxiliary nodes, greatly boosting productivity and original material output. Programming implemented algorithms to reduce consumption stacking of "collected" material by 15%. During the radiation burn, all Theoretical, philosophical, and Musicality firmware was gutted and replaced to take advantage of the new 45nm nodes fabbed in Korea.
Also during this time many electrons, 0s and 1s were Looped, Sampled, Mixed, Re-Mixed, re-Sampled, re-Remixed, Re-SampleSampled, Renoberated, Un-Sampled, and then ultimately thrown in the trash. [Only to be rescued and ReMixMixed later.]

maximalism

Currently, the term maximalism is not very widely used in the world of music, though it has become more prominent as of 2004 with the publication of Charlotte Boondock's book Maximalism. It may be tho...
