I Fear That I Am Ordinary Just Like Everyone

About Me

So it seems I have reached a point where I am supposed to fall into place with the rest of the world. Things are changing, life is different, yet I feel exactly the same way I did years ago. OK, that may not be totally true, but it's hard to feel different when you personally witness everyday of your own life. What would it be like if we could take a vacation from ourselves? Would we come back and still recognize that person?

It's an opening paragraph like that which sums up a certain label I have always placed on myself: complicated simpleton. I always make things harder on me than they really should be. I enjoy doing normal things, and I like to stay grounded, and know where I'm headed. I create obstacles for myself which inevitably leads me to the same place the straight path would have taken me. I have to do it my own way.

Enough of this abstract bullshit though. I'm Adam, born and raised in Chicago, IL. I went to Gordon Tech High School here, and then went to Marquette University in Milwaukee for that college thing. I majored in broadcasting. After two years, that major finally got me a job.

I moved to Sparta, Wisconsin in April 2006, where I worked as an overnight radio DJ, first at a country station, and then a classic rock station. Then, you move on. I am awaiting my next move!

I'm a huge music fan. I think my interests in bands have shifted a little bit over the past couple years. The Smashing Pumpkins will always be my favorite band of all-time. There's no way that can change, so don't even try. Some other faves are TOOL, System of a Down, Local H, KoRn, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Rage Against the Machine, and so many more. I pretty much run the gamut of rock in my interests, from some nice pretty songs, to songs where bloody murder is the order of the day. I think I have good taste in music.

So, to recap. I'm Adam, I have a college degree, and work in radio, I like music a lot. I'm 23 years old. I have a pierced eyebrow and lip. I'm single, and you know you want me.

Also, for those interested, I do not know how to drive, ride a bike, or swim, among other things. I'm weird like that, but you'll learn to love it.

My Interests

Rock & roll, metal, punk, alternative, garage... whatever - MUSIC. I'm into watching and attending sports, and pretending I can participate. Shooting pool, although I suck. Playing three solid games of bowling. Sinking a tricky putt on the mini-golf course. Seeing a movie that may or may not be the most popular thing in the theaters at the moment. Writing poetry to the tune of a song in my head. Bugging my friends to come see me.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people like me. People who have a passion about music, people who I can relate to. People who can be content just having a quiet night with a movie and a conversation. I'd like to meet people who enjoy concerts, but can put up with my need to watch sports. I'd like to meet people who will accept me, and let me be me. I'd like to meet people who will be happy with who I am. There must be a comfort level with anyone you come across - a boss, friend, co-worker, lover, family. If you can't feel comfortable, you can't be you.

Smashing Pumpkins, TOOL, Local H, KoRn, Nirvana, Thursday, Green Day, deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Weezer, White Stripes, Kill Hannah, Escape From Earth, silverchair, Marilyn Manson, nine inch nails, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Lostprophets, theSTART, chevelle, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, From Autumn to Ashes, Poison the Well, and so so so many more that have peaked my interest at one point or another.
