With a history dating back to early 1999 in Houston, TX, with the previous name Leisure Class Heroes, Charlize has taken every obstacle in stride thus creating a tight-knit family of musicians.
Having a foundation of original members with the exception of new-comer Rick Graham, the current line-up rests with Brandon Kurz (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Chase Stockdale (Bass/Back-Up Vocals, Brian Kurz (Lead Guitarist/Programming) and Rick Graham (Drums/Back-Up Vocals).
With the release of The Last 3 Years EP in June 2004, Charlize was able to earn a spot on the Denver date of the Vans Warped Tour 2004. After much success with the EP on the road, Charlize decided to make their way back into the studio in December of 2004 with an experienced producer. After much searching and surveying different producers Charlize was lucky enough to come across M.D. Thompson, who's experience, patience, and teaching-like mentality exceeded their expectations.
Meanwhile, due to their hard work the previous year and the overwhelming response they received, the Vans Warped Tour contacted Charlize to play the Denver stop once again in 2005. With 3 songs recorded under Thompson, Charlize felt confident with his work and decided to stick with him to record the bands first full-length album that will be available in Spring 2006. The albums release will be followed by non-stop nationwide touring.
With the bands first full-length album, national tour plans in the works, and lots of Halo, Charlize will continue to break down the barriers of the music scene. From the words of Brandon.. "Jefferson Starship said it best with the song 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now'"
