The Beginning:Unable to escape statistics because he was born into the circumstance of his father not being in his life, he was left to figure out how to develop into a man on his own. His early years were nothing less of influential downfalls, and it almost appeared effortless for him to create his own trials and tribulations at an early age. For the most part, being born to come up in a state of uncertainty, he began to question how he was going to escape the possibility on becoming a failure at being a man. Constantly being forced to contemplate the alternative that was surrounding his every day life, things appeared to be pretty bleak. Coming up in Bed-Stuy, known for one of the roughest parts of Brooklyn, but yet the same city where the great Jay-Z, Biggie and Lil Kim, to name a few hailed from, Ernest had a thought, that maybe he to, could become one of the greatest to come from his city. As he began to put his focus into the music, he joined the school band. As the years progressed times were proving to be more and more daunting. Ernest’s mother was sustaining her three children on one pay check. Ernest knew his mother’s plate was full, with no one else in the household to financially contribute is when the confusion, on how to be a man, reared its dreadful head. In years to come Ernest would find himself living in a state of mystification and his mother vastly knew that she had to make a decision and do something for her family. In 2003 in a flash of an eye, his mother packed up their possessions and off they were to Atlanta, GA seeking nothing more than mere existence. All of this was for the sake of Ernest becoming more out of life than just another misplaced soul and the only thing his mother knew was that she had to provide Ernest with a chance to live to see his graduation.The move still brought about its situations but the family worked things out for the best. Being in the big city of Atlanta, GA, Ernest began to feel the music atmosphere and was ready to jump right in, especially knowing that his mentor P. Diddy frequented the city, he felt that he stood a chance of actually meeting him someday. In watching how P. Diddy made himself a commodity, Ernest appreciated P. Diddy for showing him how to have swagger while still being cool. Ernest learned that he possessed the natural ability to be that right person in the right place at the right time in the new city and it was through chance meeting that transition began to take place.CTE: Young Jeezy label:One day in conversation with a friend, a life altering blessing for Ernest was materializing right before his eyes and he didn’t even know. Here is when life truly took its course and E Burner found himself in the presence of Nick Love and Kinky Bee, a relationship that ended up proving to be a life saver when he not only landed his first gig at CTE as an Official “Street Team” member, but he also acquired his first industry check, which gained him admission with a valid pass into the music world. Throughout his tenure at CTE, Ernest was proficient in forming his relationship with Nick Love and Kinky Bee. As the years evolved and networking events and contacts started to work out, so did business transactions.Grand Hustle: T.I. music label:Joining this collation gave Ernest the confidence that was needed and couple with the strong business relationships that he was developing, Hanna King took notice. Hanna being able to appreciate someone who showed initiative and that is just what Ernest was displaying, pure initiative. Hanna introduced him to Frank Johnson and what a spin on life Mr. Johnson would be for Ernest. I asked Ernest “What was a benefit to having Frank Johnson as a friend” and he replied “He helps everyone think outside of the box, and I am a true testament that Frank really will have you thinking outside of the box”.It was In 2005 Ernest made good on his ambitions and started working with Grand Hustle and not too long thereafter, he was crowned “National Director of Promotions” and “Mix show Director”. Ernest never forgets to hail praise to Clay Evans and Jason Geter and most of to T.I., for all the jewels they dropped onto him that aided him in being who he is today. He spent countless hours pushing the buttons to achieve the strategic plan for whatever project that was presented to him and the success that would soon follow there after. Ernest finds himself with more than just the knack to hit the streets fiercely to push a movement, but he is also able to assemble himself at a conference table to negotiate deals and finalize transactions.Swagg Team/Bad Boy South:It is this parallel view on success and what it takes to achieve it, which is allowing Ernest to gel nicely with his new-found family. Though the road has not been easy, his impeccable work ethic has led him right to where he needs to be and will soon prove, that Ernest is a force to be reckoned with. Life can only get grander from here. Hailing from the original streets of Brooklyn while this street-wise young man may not run towards trouble, he certainly won’t run from it. Taking full advantage of the opportunity that his mother presented to him in 2003, one can say that Ernest has beat the odds and looking back over the last 26 years total, Ernest wouldn’t change a single thing and he wouldn’t trade a single day of his last six years. Pose the question of, who Ernest is today, everyone would say that he falls nothing short of motivation and driven passion for what he does and who he is. Blessed with this gift, that his earlier years in life had taught him, he possessed that ability to work hard and with nothing he’s able to turn it into something.With the goal’s set in place for making Swagg Team/Bad Boy South the most operational and successful label in the new times, Ernest is committed to re-defining exactly what it mean to be a “National Director of Promotions” and “Mix show Director”.
