Original Stereoman is one of the fast shooting star in the Nigerian music industry today, his kind of music which he calls "Ekwe African Raggamuffin.
His real names are Osakumi Stereoman Sunday, he was born on the 11th february 1976, he hail from Igboku kingdom in Ndukma East LGA of Delta State, he is the second male from the family of five, lost his father 1990, mama healthy and alive, attended primary and secondary schools in Igboku Kingdom and later transfered to Unity Christian Secondary School in Apapa, Lagos. His parents were traditional musicians, mother a singer and daddy run a town cryer dancing group where he gain most of his experience from. He started music as early as six years old, but then in the church and always plays the drum whenever he is given the chance. he lost his father after secondary school and life was difficult for the family so he decided to join his uncle in Lagos, where he got skills in fashion design, making unisex clothing, but that did not stop him from his childhood dream to be a musician so as he earned from his clothing biz he saved for going back to that dream, in Nigeria its expensive to rent a studio so he worked harder to realise it, from all about singing he learnt from mummy to the beatiful dancing from daddy with his own personal creation and struggles he dedicate his first album to his late dad. Ekwe is the song he continue to sing in course of his career. the word "Ekwe" means Gong for announcement, which his family does and as such greatly influenced his music. Dancehall has always been his passion and with only a first release he has experience so much success and has paved his way to the top in the Nigeria music biz, he has performed both local and inernational show alongside top Nigerian artist all over the nation, and in Togo, South Africa, Ghana Italy, Austria, greece and more, he has colabo with stars like Raskimono, Mandators and Daddy Showkey.
"E dey pain me" a song by Stereoman was influenced by Crisis all over the nation of Nigeria and Africa, he was onced invited to Delta State for a concert where he experienced war between Ijaws, Urobo and the Itsekiri people coupled with the crisis between the Hausa and Ibos and many other related cases in Africa he decided to sing about peace among humanity and unity among Africans and for this he baged several awards including one from the Delta State University.
His goal is to take his style of music to the world since he is been called upon for concert worldwide.
