The BC Crew Team was founded in 1974 by Bill Stein, a foreign language teacher who rowed for Marreitta College. Channel was, until last year, the only public city school crew team. Seven years ago, Stein passed the oars to a fellow teacher by the name of Chris Horn. Horn, who has just competed the best season of his career, lead the team to a total of 12 medals. This makes the 2005 season the second best in the history of the team. Assistant coaches Scott Olsen and Jason Labiento, along with a week long training session at Clemson University in South Carolina, helped to make this season a great success.
