About Me

Where to start???...that's a great place...The start..
I was 8 when my father first put a mic in my hand and just told me to sing..I believe that at that point, I had underdeveloped vocal chords and didn't understand what I was actually hearing...My thought was "that's me?"
My mother listened to mo-town and classic rock...And my father was a Doobie Brothers, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and then all of the Christian music that any child can stand kind of man.(But then I found my own way)..He played drums and bass for the church band and is in a current band as we speak...Still jammin out.(yay DAD)
By the age of 12, I was singing everything that I could get my hands on. Finding accompaniment music when I could. And still do.
I did the high school choir thing, although, I had many different ideas at that time in my life about what I wanted to be, sure, a singer would have been ideal...but at the time, it was writing, writing, writing, and being a grunge singer did not feel realistic...
I grew up in the grunge capital, and couldn't find myself in the singing side of sub pop, but...an adoring fan side?....definately...
There have been many people in my life who have said to start something...pushed me here or there, but maybe I was hesitant because being a fan of music is sometimes a full time job..ahhahaa
I love it more than anything else...but then..the epiphany...what if...I could play along side of my heros??????
That has been my dream, as well as his, and hers and theirs...and it makes it easier to connect to the people who I have been looking up to for years...
Nothing makes me happier.
So, you are getting to hear, what has been inside of me now for 31 years...
If you read the previous bio, you would see that I also love writing...writing poetry, about you, about me, about the world in general, theories, conspiracies, whatever feels right at the time..
Now, I am putting the 2 together...
I hope that you see that this is my chrysalis...and everyone knows what the outcome of that is...
Lots of love,
Justina

Sounds Like: What you would hear if you held a seashell up to your ear, if you held your best friends hand for too long, if youve loved and lost, if youve loved and won, your mother calling you to come home after youve played for too long, finding a new tree to climb, playing othello, naked toes running through fingerhut carpet, answering an orange rotary phone, drinking freshly picked honeysuckle flowers and chamomile tea, learning to tie your shoes, cutting your sisters hair, a nervous laugh, a rainy day sitting in the window sill praying that it never ends, a siren...I am a piece of work.

I feel like the eggs about to crack. Inside of the thin speckled shell lives an orphan of sound. With a nest made of sheet music. All that was wasted away or misplaced... Who knows, and who ca...

Pen In Hand

My best laid plans involve pen in hand. The follow through involves you. Good intentions mean nothing to me, Without words on paper setting them free. Sculpting a masterpiece with form and finesse. Li...
