About Me

There's not much interesting to say about myself. I spend the week working at two jobs where I sit at a computer all day. At my main job, I write computer software for internal use by the company that I work for as well as other software projects for sale and for their web site. At my other job, I process certifications, bill out to HUD/OHFA and deposit rent from the tenants living at a HUD-subsidized low-income senior housing complex. During my free time, I'm usually found either at church or at home wasting time on my own computer, watching TV, and trying to catch up on my sleep.

Last summer and fall I also did a lot of walking for exercise to try to loose some weight and learning photography to give myself something interesting to do instead of sitting around the house being bored. Those activities have been on hiatus during the winter, but now that the weather has warmed up again, I need to start back up again. I have a few family pictures that I have taken in my photos section here and have uploaded a sampling some of the other pictures that I've taken to my Flickr page.

My Interests

Computer/Web Programming (Delphi, C#, HTML, SQL, XML), Writing (Medieval Fantasy, Horror), Roleplaying Games (both computer and pen-and-paper), Genealogy (my own ancestry as well as distant royal/celebrity connections, marriage webs), Photography, Puzzles (Jigsaw puzzles with as many pieces as possible, also Crossword Puzzles, Sudoku, etc.), Trivia GamesOther things that I have done at least once and would like to do more, but don't have much chance to do: hiking (preferably in the woods or mountains, but I usually only get to walk around the block at home), swimming, site seeing (caves, state parks, historic sites, museums, galleries), canoeing, theme parks (mostly to see the shows, but I also like the rapids ride)

I'd like to meet:

People I already know.

Music:

I have extremely eclectic tastes; I like all sorts of music across every genre and time period from new releases to early wax cylinders. I focus mostly on individual tracks rather than concentrating on a few specific artists. I especially like parodies, covers, remixes, mashups and anything strange or unusual. If I had to pick a favorite artist, it would have to be Frank Zappa, both his comedy music as well as his serious music.

Movies:

Comedy, Sci-Fi, Action/Adventure, Fantasy, Horror (preferably more psychological rather than pointless psychopath slasher movies)

Television:

Any Britcoms that I can find: Are You Being Served, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Coupling, Bo' Selecta, Blackadder, One Foot in the Grave, French & Saunders, Little Britain, SaxondaleDoctor Who (old and new), Torchwood, Heroes, Mythbusters, educational or historical documentaries (ancient or medieval times, space, science and technology)

Books:

Fantasy (Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, J.R.R. Tolkien), Sci-Fi, Horror (Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft)

Heroes:

I don't really have one.
