Currently in Florida and actually enjoying myself throughly!

About Me

Definitely time to redo my spot, it's been much to long! Things are going magnificently in life at the moment and I'm in the process of getting ready to go to Panama for the Peace Corps for the next two and a bit years! May 14th orientation! YAY!!! PANAMA!!! Think of the orchids, other plants, BUGS! and animals!!! I'm am super stoked! (I was suppose to go to Morocco in early March... but that is what happens in the Peace Corps... and I need to get use to that sort of thing!) I'm in Florida currently, living on a sailboat that is docked in the lagoon behind my wonderful aunt and uncle's house, and really enjoying myself! How many people can say they get rocked to bed every night? (I do have to say that the other night with the storms... boy now that was rockin!) I like to dream and plan! And I'm quite good at coming up with some cracker of ideas! I've got quite a few up my sleave at the moment... :D I love languages... some people I know say that it's a bit over the top... but they're just jealous! :D Just kidding! Along with the planning, there is definitely traveling involved, and I want to keep shaking around the globe my ENTIRE life! I've lived in A LOT of places in the US and also lived in Hobart, Australia for nearly three years... living in Australia is DEFINITELY on my list of things to do after getting out of the Peace Corps. I use to think that commiting to plans longer than 2 years was a very strange thing... but I think I've gotten over that fear...Have a look around the page and see what else I'm about!

My Interests

Life in general is pretty darn wicked! ("That's wicked!--- Jaimee) I LOVE to travel first and foremost... but now that I can do it I'm going to try to really get into a place when I travel... try not to do the normal check off the list traveling. That is why I'm super excited about going to Panama for 2 years, and that is why I decided to do my uni degree in Australia. I also enjoy any thing that has to deal with the outside and I'm quite interested in sustainable agriculture works... nerdy I know, but someone's got to do it!

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Throw it at me and I'll listen to it! I like songs that make me feel happy. The words don't have to make sense, just as long as there's a beat to listen to. I absolutely love Indian music... actually, pretty much any foreign music is good. I'm a bit of a foreign freak really....

Movies:

Donnie Darko, The Edukators, Run Lola Run, Amores Perros, Y Tu Mama Tambien... once again I like foreign things (I realise Donnie Darko isn't foreign to America, but it's definitely art house schick, so close enough)

Television:

I have to admit that I've fallen for the Grey's Anatomy trap! ... and of course the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad... but who doesn't watch those shows when they're on!?!

Books:

The Darkest Jungle... set in Panama back in the 1850's... The Death of a River Guide by Richard Flanigan, pretty awesome. He came and talked to us in our Understanding Place course! How cool! Set on the west coast of Tasmania. A bit weird, and a little over the top at times, but over all great.

Heroes:

Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela.

My Blog
