ayight... who's got connections?

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home father of two... Oswald & Drew (my cats)... a "retired" designer from the world of architecture trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. For now, fashion/commercial photography is my passion. Looks like I might actually stick with it. I relocated from CA, so I'm a newbie in the NY area trying to "break out" onto the fashion scene. Wish me luck on AIM @ jwstampfl or check out my work @ www.josephstampfl.com I'm a super chill person, always cool, calm and somewhat collected. I play well with others and generally go out of my way to be there for my friends. Love traveling and road trips... it was a staple of survival in California, still trying to figure out this NY thing - can the roads be any worse?!a few images of mine:

My Interests

let's begin with the obvious... photography, fashion, architecture, computers, gadgets and I'm sure a bunch of others that I can't think of right at the moment. The not so obvious would be cycling, snow-boarding (although ask me about that one...). I generally try most anything once. Would love to sky-dive someday before I die... geesh. And at least once, can I go scuba-diving, please? I won't go as far as saying I'm "into" my car, but I definitely enjoy tracking it. Hmm, what else... well if I haven't listed it, ask, maybe I've tried it or would want to.

I'd like to meet:

those who like ranch dressing with their pizza and/or fritos...

Music:

I grew up on U2, REM, The Smiths, OMP, The Cure, NIN, The Cranberries, Erasure, and a few other alternative bands. I do still listen to all regularly, but admittedly, I'm all over the map now. I really dig progressive trance/house music and I'm into the alternative bands like Foo Fighters, LP, Filter, Jane's Addiction, Prodigy, The Shins, Weezer, West Indian Girl, Travis, The Strokes, The Stills, etc.

Movies:

I tend to like well made movies. I don't claim to be some movie buff that can name off a ton of b-flics that only a select few people have seen. But I at least like to think I enjoy intelligent movies and the occasional block buster. To name a few: High Fidelity, Dancer in the Dark, Snatch, Vanilla Sky, Trainspotting, Blow, Being John Malkovich, Matrix, Almost Famous, Blow, Minority Report, Fight Club, and now having recently seen Kill Bill, I'm a fan of that too. These are the movies that I've watched again and again and don't seem to tire of. I do like Gladiator and of course my all time favorites are Three Amigos and Princess Bride.

Television:

I'm a big Seinfeld fan... I grew up on Cheers... I was glued to The Practice for a time. And Will and Grace did make me laugh. Now it would seem I just stick to Discovery, History and the like.

Books:

admittedly, I am not well read when it comes to books. I do, however, read various trade magazines (i.e.: architecture and photography mags) as well as fashion mags.

Heroes:
